Ok guy's,... Let's talk wing fences... Who is useing them and your thoughts ?? The ones that came in the kit we're building now won't even go around the leading edge... My thoughts are that they sent the fences to the 1/5.5 kit accidently.. Any of you guys have this problem ? And back to my main question, are the needed for stability and tip stall ??

Thanks,
Dan
Thanks,
Dan
Look like on prototype
I'm sure with ore without fences will not affect stability, it's just for scale view.
On my bird I fully rebuld fences (it's was not scale size):
And vortex generators:

Sergey

Kind regards,

Hi to all,
and sorry for delay, not to much time for hobby
But there is some progress with my Hawk, we add imitation of rudder trim

and just finished repaints, now needs to apply decals and finalise semi-mate polish and then assembly.
Some photo of the prototype paint:

As SkyMaster did:

So, you can see to many mistakes, not critical for fan, but unacceptable for copy. Does it why we decide to fully repaint.
And have started (initially i thought it be much easy)

Kind regards,
Sergey

I couldn't find the official acknowledge the number of blue color been used for XX263 (not for 1:48, 1:72 plastic model painting), also i don`t have possibility to go England to find original aircraft to check with BS paint catalogue.
Does it why i used lots of photos to decide by what to paint.
And i think blue color is to close to original:
The prototype:
My bird:
I didn't use photoshop, i swear!
Any way, these model just for my pleasure, and i like her.
Kind regards,
Sergey

Not sure which Hawk you have. I have the 94" T-1 size. When I ordered it I also ordered wing tanks at the same time. They installed mounting dowels inside the wing and marked the outside with a small dimple for locating. Some of the dowels can been looking in the flap servo bay. The sad part and true to many workmanship issues the mounting points didn't line up with the tank mounting pylons. I also added some reinforcement to the dowels I could reach. Hope this was of some help.

Due to RXi turbine has inner pump, valves and filter was added 340gr ballast to the nose.
