Hello Everyone
How are you all doing? I hope well. We all have been busy with organizing the 9th Jet World Masters. It's the normal everything day thing of writing many emails and figuring out all the good stuff. Like I mentioned in other emails. We would not be able to make this event happen if it wasn't for sponsors and individuals that support model aviation and education to the world. Without doubt this is probably the most amazing facility to host such a event.
Any company or individual that is interested in support the Jet World Masters please take a look at our website [link=http://jwm2011.com]JWM2011.COM[/link] for more information. Our current sponsors has stepped up big for this event. Most of our sponsors will have product demonstrations during our lunch time demo's. Some of the best jet pilots and aircraft will be flown to their limits. Each day we are planning on having our sponsors demonstrating their products to our curious hobbyist and spectators.
Companies like AMT Netherlands, Composite ARF, King Tech USA, Jet Central, Global Jet Club, Shulman Aviation, Sew Busy will be at the event with product for sale and to demonstrate during our demo times.
Our Pilots, family members, friends and sponsors will also get to enjoy the hospitality from our Museum Staff, Greene County CVB and Montgomery CVB, and the event organizing staff. Greene County CVB will be waiting at registration to answer questions for your local travels, hotels, and restaurants in the area. We want to make sure that you can come and enjoy your investment.
For all you Jet World Masters pilots and sponsors. We want to make sure that you will be taken care of at the event and also around the world. SO far we have great cover from our media sponsors.
RC Sport Flyer magazine is attending the event so they can take many photo's and interviews of the event. You can subscribe to RC sport Flyer and receive your magazine with your Ipad!!! That is the newest and greatest way for the travelling person.
Jet Power Magazine, A European magazine that is distributed almost all around the world. If your into jets then your into Jet Power Magazine.
RC Jet International, published buy Traplet Publications, is a European magazine that is also worldwide. They will also be on hand covering all the pilots and new product.
Our newest sponsor for the Jet World Masters Media coverage is ( Model Airplane News). Model Airplane News just join the list of JWM sponsors and supporters. They will be covering Jet World Masters action.
RC Universe will also be covering the event everyday. RC Ken will be staying on the field in a RV. I think that could be a really good time for all the ones that plan on staying a few nights at the event.
We will be posting more information soon. Make sure you look on our official website for information.

9th Jet World Masters... National Museum of the United States Air Force. July 24- August 6 2011.....
We are very proud to announce a couple sponsors for the Jet World Masters. Logo's are posted on the previous post from Roger Shipley.
1. USA Jet Airlines & Active Aero Group, A on demand charter company that uses Falcon 20 and DC-9's to service the needs of their customers. I worked for this company for 7.5 years as a Falcon20 and DC-9 captain. They have always been very supportive with my modeling adventures and this proves it. They have stepped up to support the Jet World Masters. Our organizing crew is very happy for their support and I must say I am extremely happy for their kindness. USA Jet was planning on flying into the show and having a passenger DC-9 on display for all to see, but with the rules and regulations this will not be possible without pulling teeth, cutting off legs, and etc... believe me I really wish they could fly in.
2. Sew Busy, For all you modelers in IMAC and some of you in other venues must know Mr Wayne Mathews from Sew Busy. Sew busy will be our embroiderer before and during the show. Wayne will have his high quality shirts, hats, etc available for sale at the Jet World Masters . We will have some pictures of his product soon for you to view. Give Wayne a call and place your order today
3. Power Box Systems, World leader in RC power supply systems. Power Box develops power supply systems for RC aircraft. Our high performance aircraft require power distribution systems when you are pulling current to multiple servos and other electronics. Power Box Systems makes power distribution systems to handle the current needs.
Take a look at our website for hotel, and registration information. We added a couple more hotels to the list.

Here is an interesting note on the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1
lace w:st="on">Thailand</st1
lace></st1:country-region> Team....They have 5 Team members 4 of which are flying the same Alpha.
The 4 had completed their models ready for the competition to find out they had completed the scale markings and colorsfrom model pictures and plastickits which would not static well because of the new IJMC rule that the model must look like the existing plane not models. So they had to build 4 new Alpha models in the green camo scheme which is not near as visible as the WOW colors!
Team Manager: Mr. Chira Ratanarat
Pilots: Mr. Schnatip Seevaranont
Mr. Visut Amphaivorn
Mr. Pasakorn Yenpanya
Mr. Damrhi
Mr. Andreas Gietz will compete withthe Douglas A4D Sky Hawk
Helpers: Mr. Choompol Pisitsataya
Mr. Priav
Now this some serious determination, huh?<o

Hello Everyone
Steve I think I fixed the Link for the Charles Johnson's Website. Thanks for letting me know.
I have slowed down a little on here because I have been very busy with work and my work schedule has been changing almost weekly. We all have been plugging away with getting thing organized for the Jet World Masters.
I have a question for all that are following the Jet World Masters thread. How many people would be interested in participating in a webinar about the Jet World Masters? I did one of these last year for a kids summer camp reunion and it worked very well. A Webinar is a online video conference that can be viewed by anyone that has interent and knows the link and time. This would allow us to present the event in a very unique way. We will be able to answer questions from those that are viewing the Webinar. We can present a slide presentation as we talk about the event, sponsors, activities in the local area, and such. The use of the internet from around the world could be a very useful tool for all the competitors and spectators that are wanting to participate in the event. We have really tried to think outside the box to make this event special and I think this is one thing that could help out on those that are curious.
Our open Jet flying registration is also online now. Download the form and send or email the form to Lewis Patton so we can have a welcome package presented to you on your arrival. Open Jet Flying is free to all Jet Pilots so don't miss out on having a great time at this Jet World Masters.
Let us know if you would be interested in watching a Webinar? It will be free for you to participate in the Webinar.
Cheers

Hello All,
I would like to emphasize how awesome and unique this event will be. The USA JWM, which will be held in Dayton, Ohio from July 24-Aug 6th, is a once in a lifetime event for all Jet pilots in the USA. It is an international event where the United States will be able to show our warm hospitality and beautiful facilities. There will be upwards of 100 pilots competing from countries all over the world and potentially 400 participants in total when you look at all of the support staff involved. Moreover, there will be open flying in the afternoons between July 28-31 and Aug 2-5th. What a great opportunity it will be to get some flying in at a top grade facility and to be able to network with our fellow jet enthusiast from all over the world!
A large vendor section along with concessions will be available each open day of the event. Moreover, the museum itself is a rare jewel for anyone interested in aviation. The United States government affiliated with the museum will providing all of he ground support we will need each day for this event. It will be professionally run and extensive facilities will be made available so that everyone can maximize their enjoyment. I would equate it to be similar to what most of us have seen with the Thunderbirds or the Blue Angels events, only this time the main emphasis will be on OUR hobby AND we will be able to use the facility to fly our JETS!
Man what an opportunity! We may never see anything like this again. If your schedules afford you the ability to attend this great event, please make the effort to go. And, if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me on my cell 501-590-8716 or email . Although most of the key support roles are filled, we are still looking to fill a few coordinator and support spots. If you would be interested in helping out or putting your name on the list of backup support should it be required, please let me know.
I have attached the current schedule of events. Also, please be sure and check the MAIN information thread on top of the forum to keep up with any updates.
Thank you and hope to see all of you there!
Andy

Hello Everyone
Andy you have brought up some really good points about this years Jet World Masters. We all appreciate the support that we are receiving and we will continue to do the same. From day one, we have been focusing on a great event that can drawl a great crowd of people to the local area. Dayton has so much to offer and we have the support to showcase this unique opportunity. Our sponsors are the ones that will make this event/ competition very special to everyone that will attend. Raising funds to put on a show like this has not been a easy job, but we have not slowed down with our marketing and our goals for the event.
We have the right people helping to make this a fun 2 week event. The National Museum of the United States Air Force has a special event staff that is very organized and professional. They know how to handle large events with precise hospitality and the facility is unbelievable. You can not, and will not find a better place to host a event like this because of the aviation that is surrounded in the area. How many people knew the Wright Brothers are from Dayton, Ohio? First Airport in the world is in Dayton, Ohio.
Greene County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Montgomery Convention and Visitors Bureau are both a huge supporter for the event. They are going to be on site everyday to answer any question about hotel's, restaurants, local museum's, parks, and any attraction that will be in the area. If you do have certain questions about the local Greene County area please feel free to email me or email Lisa Willis at ... Montgomery CVB contact is Ron Eifert his email is . Both of these CVB's are working together to make your stay enjoyable. Bring your families to the show because we will have many things for you to do during your down time. Just to name a few things for you and your family to enjoy. Shopping from the 3 large malls, ( Fairfield Commons, The Greene, Dayton Mall), Funny Bone Comedy Club, fine dinning,Dayton Art Museum, AMA head quarters, Dayton Dragons minor league Baseball game ( we are working on a Night with the Dragons), Bi plane rides, NMUSAF Museum, Huffman Prairie, Boonshoft Museum of Discovery ( kids museum), Kings Island amusement park, Youngs Dairy and so much more. They will have coupons and discounts for many cool attractions.
Steve
At this time we do not have any plans to keep any of the aircraft that are participating in the Open Jet fly in any storage. Pilots that are coming to the event to watch the JWM and to fly in the open jet flying portion must bring their own tents and things. Pilots or groups of pilots are able to rent tents for the event if they like. Just shoot me a email and we can get you a price. All open jet flying will be free. You can download registration for Open Jet Flying from our website. Email or contact Lewis Patton with your registration information so we can be prepared for your arrival. Anyone that would like to step up and rent a large pilot tent for the Open Jet Flying just feel free to contact Roger Shipley or myself with the information.
JWM pilots will have a secure climate controlled tent for the competition pilots. This is a required item for hosting the Jet World Masters. After doing some research and checking prices we found out that this one tent will cost the organizers 45,000 dollars for the 2 weeks. This tent will house all JWM pilots aircraft and it will be secure at night. If we don't have the predicted amount of pilots then we can get a smaller tent for the JWM pilot but that will still cost us a lot of money. This is why we express the importance to support the event and our sponsors because they have stepped up big time to make this happen. The museum can not solicit any money for this event, we are not able to charge for admission from any spectators, and no parking. Pretty much the entire event will be brought to you by the list of sponsors that are on our web site. Finding support for this event has been extremely hard with our current economy, but we are getting connected with good people that believe in our goal and mission.
I was notified that the Academy of Model Aeronautic educational department ( AMA) which is only 2 hours from the museum. Will be attending the JWM to work with all spectators that are curious about model aviation. They will have a trailer on site with a model airplane simulator for anyone to try. They will also have balsa airplanes to give to kids along with other activities for them to participate in. RC Hobby Center is a local hobby shop and they will help with assisting kids with some buddy box flying. This Competition/event is only a positive to anyone that is interested in knowing more about model and full scale aviation. I tried to get the EAA involved but they are extremely busy during this time of the year because of Oshkosh fly in.
We were also notified that the Springfield Air National Guard is planning on attending the show. If things work out like I am hoping they will have some very interesting things for all of us to see.
Thank you everyone and Thank you sponsors.

Last fall Roger asked if I'd fill the role as the CD for the competition element of the event, and I told him yes. In addition, Jerry Crow will be filling in the role of Assistant CD.
To that end, in the process of ironing out some of the details, there is the potential of international competitors being here, with engines that are homebuilt. As a path to work with this for the competitiors, within the guidelines and rules sets of the AMA, the following has been settled upon, and looks to be a practical solution. I'll be doing the sign off and inspection of the operation and log books of any that are in this circumstance, during the preceeding practice flying days, before the competition get's rolling.
Find attached a copy of the AMA pdf, that show's these exception forms.
Also, I'd like to take this time to publicly thank those that are lending a hand, to cover the competition facet. From judges, safety marshals, time keeper's, aircraft weigh-in's, flight line director, etc., I appreciate all of your time and effort to help out.
Overall, there are 20 people helping Jerry and I, and that is just for the competition part alone, not to mention all of the people helping out on all the other facets.
Thanks,
Lance Campbell

Well, the big name in the USA will have a bunch of their parts in my plane at the WJM as all of my other jets do too no matter how they decide to spend their marketing and advertising money. You have to go with top quality parts!

This truly is going to be a great event for all. Lance and all the other volunteers for this event are working hard to make this a great experience for all. I really feel we have the right people for the jobs. We have the support from the museum, County CVB's, and our sponsors. Our sponsors has made this event happen because this is a totally free event to all spectators. Our Sponsors has believed in our mission and our objective in having a first class international competition along with a educational experience for everyone. Our future in Aviation is changing everyday with the development of unmanned aircraft. Having the world to see the advancements of RC's in the civilian world can only influence our future of the youth for tomorrow. If your into airplane, then you need to be here at the JWM. Support our sponsors and our volunteers that is making this happen for the United States.
Roger Posted the link to the Press Release that the NMUSAF post on their website. This release will go to thousands of people all over the country. The PR and Marketing department is also very excited about this event coming to the Dayton area. We also have a Flyer announcement that will be going to a lot of youth organizations in the area. Mostly summer camps, ROTC, and Boycotts. Our first Magazine ad's will also be showing up on the news stand shortly.
