Thanks to those guys who have ordered sticker sets and wing bags. It looks as if I will be needing to order both again soonish ( not till you have finished my Futura though Dunc)
Just a little update...
Both of our flying VJ2m's here in the uk have suffered from lots of play/movement in the main retract units. I was surprised at this as I initially thought this might be wear of the retract units themselves, which given the quality of them was a little disappointing.
I dropped the units out to see if I could do anything to rectify the matter, and was pleasantly surprised to see no wear on the units what so ever. The issue is actually the pivot bolts that go through the side frames into the trunion coming loose. A re assembly with a drop of loctite cured the play right away.
Apart from that the 2M is performing faultlessly. Logging lots and lots of flights and still putting a big smile on my face.
I had an issue with an ECU last weekend which meant I had a flame out 2 mins into a flight so the bottom tank was full. It was a flat calm and baking hot day so I knew my landing speed might be a little higher, but I was really taken a back by how much faster it came in and for the first time ever it showed signs of dropping a wing. Nothing horrendous ( I picked the wing up with opposite rudder and aileron )
It really did bring to light how as the jets get smaller they are more effected by weight increases. I guess it's a case of wing loading and percentages. Worth bearing in mind when fitting one of these 2M's out. The more I fly mine the more I am sure the great flying qualities come from keeping it light.
Regards Al

I'm sure they'll be another rush for them once the other v2m batches start arriving - I know I'll certainly be getting a set.
Duncan, do you have any photos of what is included in the decal set?

If and when mine ever hits my door, I will be ordering both. Might have to do it before hand, but the wife is giving me the evil eye with all the stuff being shipped to the house. Might have to start having things shipped to my brothers..Either that or Im in for a bunch of hand bags....lol

Ali, Is there a link to the decal set you could post. I figure I should order a set as my 2Mviper is close to arriving.
Thanks,
Bob

Here you go.
In future the chrome sets will come on a sheet like in the picture, the same as the current large Viperjet decals.

Fantastic Duncan
If anyone has bought a set please post some before and after photos. My P80SE is stashed up my friends loft patiently waiting on my v2m - 7 weeks down, unknown to go [sm=what_smile.gif]
In the meantime I've been slowly stocking up on the parts required to complete sneaking them by my (still, sigh) pregnant wife

This shows a few of the decals and where they should be applied
The P80 sticker was one done as an extra for Ali, although it is still on file if anyone really wanted it.

Just an update...
I have a few sets left with the Jet Cat Logo's, but the next sets will come without them, as they are a pain to weed out ( Time consuming ) and I am thinking about dropping the spektrum also, as this will lower the price of the set, and for those that dont use Spektrum radio ( I feel sorry
) it makes more sense not to have them.

Oh and the jpeg that Dunc has kindly put on shows only one of the big text lettering, where as each set actually comes with two of the Viper jet 2m and Al's Hobbies.

Not really Bob as its the chrome stuff that costs the most. I also wanted to avoid if possible doing to many one offs, and special orders. My goal was just to make a few batches of sticker sets to have in stock so that when we sell a kit we have a sticker set to go with them if the customer wanted.
Although having said that to order an extra set of chrome work when Duncan is doing the next run shouldn't be an issue.
Regards Al

Just curious. What is the flying weight (no fuel) of your Viper with the P-80SE?
My Tomahawk Viper is almost ready and its nice to compare the weight difference.

Hi Didier,
Sorry my friend, but I never get round to weighing my models. ( Just pick them up and class them as heavy or light that way)

Haha, maybe its better not to weight the model indeed.
Can remember when I was building my UL, I did everything to make it light (due to my indoor flying history).
When finished, the UL was simply to light, yes that can happen to! ;-)
Anyway, the Viper gained 400 gram (14oz) more after painting. Not to bad I think.
