He also still wont give me the shipper info. Told him not acceptable , he then said now you wont get anything and hung up. Called again 5 min. later I told him I will be sending him ti jail. He hung up again . Called again saID HE WOULD SEND ME 5000 and I will get it by weds. And he will send me the additional 200 when he gets back home. Ill believe it when weds. comes. Ill keep you posted. And thanks for all this help. You are a great bunch of guys . Thanks Bill Squillace I hope David comes through for you on the money return, but if he had the balls to pull this off, then in all honesty it is probably just a delay tactic. Give him to Wed. and if the money is not there... move quickly as you can through the proper chain. Don't let him keep putting you off. |

Get the parole officer's name & phone # ASAP... you have some leverage there... by Wed, he could be moved to another location out of the state... but that would be a parole violation too!

Wow I read through these posts, I remember when I just started here, people seemed to be trustworthy, IDK what happened, maybe it's just me or are people being bigger dicks every day.
I know there are good people out there, but one @$$hole like this screws it up for every one. Good luck man, I hope it works out for you, I had an issue years back, I lost $2000, in a truck, and never got it back, turns out all the contact info I got for the guy was all fake. Again good luck! |

Have him served. The best you get is a judgement which probably isn't worth the paper it's written on unless he has some tangible assets. All the law enforcement agencies are going to pass the buck about being responsible for prosecution. Is it federal, regarding mail fraud, probably but are they going to chase a $5k claim when they have millions in ID theft clogging their system? If I were you, I'd fly my tush up there and talk to the local police, sheriff, FBI and see what you get. I'm sure Craig's List has some leg breakers for hire? |

1. Judge Judy would have this guy crying inside of 5 minutes, she rocks!

You need to move forward with notifying authorities or parole agents etc, I'd be surprised if you get any money by Wednesday as promised, I'll be surprised if you get anything at all unless he's 'forced' by legal means Keep the pressure on. 3. Amazing what a small world we live in, the video showing this guy is at a Rosemount rc field, I went to grade school in Apple Valley MN in the 70's.., thats right between Burnsville and Rosemount, In those days that area was all country but roads were being made and neighborhoods being erected at a feverish pace for the expansion of the suburbs of the Twin Cities, As I rode around in the car with my dad there were many instances of rc pilots flying on the unfinishes roads and highways... they were the ones that got me hooked, and one of them put their old issues of "RC Modeler" in Diamond Path Elementary's library where I perused and dreamed of rc flight. |

He has the nerve to hang up on you when he knows what he has done to you and me and God only knows how many others. You will never get a shipper for that jet because there was never a jet to sell, everyone has been great here and trying to help out with going to the police, but for that amount, they will not even touch it, I been there with this before when he ripped me off 6 years ago. He does not need to go to jail, he has been there and still stole from you, no what he needs is a BAT TO HIS HEAD. |

You might as well give him his money back and never show up here again. God help you if you did this to me. Ask the last crook what happened when they TRIED to steal from me......................... it didn't involve the guys parole officer either....Let's just say that the law's arm is alot longer than most crooks think. There is a a few things you can do to get action.
1. Compile all paperwork and make copies. Include phone call dates and times. (if possible.) Include websites and as much information you can detail. You keep all the originals. 2. Create a cover letter describing what happened signed and Notorized. Include in the letter that after 30 days you will send a copy to the press in his home town and yours and National press. Also include all of the people in number 3 3. Mail a copy to him, your local DA, the police department, State police, State Attorney General's office and FBI in your state. Also send a copy to the DA, Police department, State police, State Attorney General's office and FBI office in his state. Send them all certified signature required so you know the letters arrived and who recieved it. You can then copy them and add that to press kit. 4. Give them thirty days after last one arrived at its destination for them to contact you. 5. If no contact after thirty days by any of the law enforcement agencies, send a copy to the National press or big TV network his local press and yours. 6. Sit back and watch the fireworks. If the story ends up in the National press or seen in the UPI wires locally people will demand to know why nothing has been done and follow up for you. Especially to the elected officials $5000.00 plus is grand larceny. This is a full blown case of breech of contract and mail fraud and grand larceny. You can get your money back or he will go to jail. If he returns your money you will drop charges. Otherwise you demand he is prosecuted. The FBI can step in here because money was sent through the mail. Nobody wants to see this in the press so they will act. You just have to leverage the right direction. Paper work is a must. The more you can generate in the initial package the better your chances. There is enough here to provide a solid enough case to do something on. Done right you will get results. You may not get your money back but they will shut him down. I bet the FBI will jump on this immediately. |

Man...makes me never want to chance buying anything again.
I did have a scammer try to buy a radio from me - from a listing I had on another forum for giant flyers - but that deal became pretty obvious it was a scam. But this way, with the seller being the scammer, wow. Looks like I've been naiive in assuming the seller is actually selling the plane in his ad/pictures, and not just fishing for my money. Sure, if at all possible, the best way is to do the deal in-person and be able to physically inspect the jet. But this is a relatively small sector of the hobby, and waiting to find a jet for sale which fits your needs that is within a reasonable distance, well, it could be a long wait. Perhaps using an escrow service, where funds are held until the jet arrives and is inspected, is the way to go. But I have no idea of any such 'middle man'. Perhaps the AMA could offer this service, as AOPA does for 'full scale' purchases. |

I do buy on RCU and have had good luck, I have gotten some good stuff like engines and such. But when it comes to buying airplanes I buy from here in Wyoming or Colorado and instead of having them shipped I go and pick them up and pay then. I have done very well doing it that way! The reason was not the sellers for me they always did me right, It was the shippers. I had a piper cub that was shipped it was double boxed but full of holes. It looked like some one took a metel rod and poked many holes through it. the tail of the plane was broke and it was full of holes. I was able to fix it but because of that and two other broken shipped planes I stopped have any shipped! But if I had sent a so called man five thousand plus dollars one way or the other I would get my moneys worth!
