Ref rudder servo, just put a long screw in the servo, mount it the wrong way then measure from the screw to the rear of the fus then repeat the measurement outside on the fin spot on. job done!![sm=confused.gif]

I just finished my FLASH but discovered it won't balance without "stuffing " my batteries up under the air tank. AND I used a lighter turbine ( WREN SS ) + a WREN tailpipe that is lighter than the C-ARF one... for batteries I have a 3300 LIPO+regulator for the RX and a 2200 LIPO for the turbine...has anyone else had this problem?

Geh3

The Flash balances without weight with a P80 using 2 x Li-Po Rx in the battery boxes and a std 1250 JetCat pack in the nose section.
My P120 unit has 2 x 2100 Li-po Rx in the battery boxes and a 4300 NiMH in the opposite side battery box and again no weight-both with the std pipe supplied.

I guess you Li-Po batteries are lighter... you need 1.5lb of batteries around the battery box centre line to balance a std JetCat powered Flash
You can save weight by pushing them forward

My now flown flash balanced perfecto as per standard setup (sensor switch and 2 li po) with the ecu bats (2000 mh nicads) with a simjet 2300. And by the way flies lovely will be taking it to the JMA jet meet and give it some more airtime.

I guess my LIPOS are just not heavy enough, will have to do some stuffing... I was hoping to use the neat battery boxes supplied with the FUSE

your turbine must be lighter than a WREN SS.. did you use the bypass kit that came with the Flash?

Got a "dry" weight for us?

Dave

I am mounting a flash with P80. Is not neccessary to install the bypass upper , bottom and middle duct joiner ?

Thanks

RE: Comp ARF Flash update

JP,

The recommendation is to fit the full bypass for smaller engines such as the P80 and not to bother with larger motors such as the p120.

SO what are the negatives about the bypass stuff?

RE: Comp ARF Flash update

I just finished up my flash and I have a question. When I went go to put the wing on it did not fit all that well. It is definietly hitting on something and my gues is the bypass however I can not see inside when the wing goes on. It will go on and I can tighten it down by pushing on the wing but there is some resistance. Has anyone else noticed this. I had expected the wing to lay on nice and flush but it does not. Any ideas?

RE: Comp ARF Flash update

Yes mine is the same I think it would be wise to re-enforce the wing bolts areas. Mine isn't on the bypass its just the fit of the fuse to wing.

Don't think there is much I can do apart from sand the contact areas but i just think it will ruin the finish so I havent bothered.

Flying mine again this sunday hopefully its a great plane enjoy.
