LOL Babboon. I think you are referring to stevo, who was sat infront of the intakes with the extingusher. Yep he was a bit slow wasn't he, but to be fair it didn't take long for the damage to be done. I'm glad I put a bypass in mine as the wet start I had, may of well done the same

Ali! I love how neat you are on you installations! Every time I try and think it is going to be neat, it doesn't happen.....lol. I have it all laid out, then when the wires and tubing starts to get connected, the spagetti mess starts for me! Job well done! I even try to copy from you guys' that have the more professional set up. Thanks for showing how it is done!

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Hi all, I am still having a problem with my EVSD 5U PRO,
one problem, the unit looses whatever settings I have input to it, when the power is turned off to the unit, secondly I am trying mode 1, there is no delay on the doors opening and the gear coming down, and the same when the gear comes up, the doors try to close as the gear is retracting. Could the unit be faulty? Comments please.. Regards Ross |

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
EVSD problem solved.
My Viperjet came with the retracts etc installed. I have finally resolved my problem with the doors operating at the wrong time. It was as simple as the colour code on the retracts was reversed, and of course the system was trying to operate the incorrectly. Now to go back to reinstalling all the pipework and finishing off the installation of the fuel system, ECU etc. Thank goodness it is in modules so it is easy to install and reassemble. Regards to all Ross |

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Thanks! I already had a taste of it on a friend´s Viper and I am looking forward for mine getting ready as soon as possible.
now I need to find a 1/5 scale borg pilot (at a decent price) for that big and standarized cabin... |
RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Are there any suitable pilots for the Viperjet in the market. I have seen a couple with head sets, hats and clothes but don't know the origin/manufacturer.
Any help in this respect? Regards, |
RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Yep They are called Premier Pilots and Al's Hobbies sell them. I have 2 in my viper and they are the perfect size, although you do have to remove the legs below the knee.

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Thanks Duncan, but is there any cheaper solution although pilots look really nice.
Regards, |
RE: Another Skymaster Viper
The only cheaper solution i found, was to get my Fiancee to buy them me for christmas :D I think there are a few around, that are slightly smaller, but after spending that much on a model, a few extra ££ seemed silly to worry about ;)

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
I am sure it's not gone be easy to convince my wife to buy me 2 dolls at this price:D....

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
After losing my large Viper recently, I did not think I would get another one due to the cost. A new in the box red/white/silver chequer ARF Pro Plus became available at less than half price. Could not believe my luck. I snapped it up.
It is over a year old, so will have to do all the mods. I really liked the big one. I found it a much better flyer than the small version. |

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Hi
I just received a new Viper too today, and I'm wondering what kind of wingtube you have. With my Viper i received a "simple" aluminium tube without any reinforcements like in some threads above where discussions was about the replacement of the wing tubes because of thin wall thickness. My Dealer has no idea and means this is the regular one, but i'm a little bit confused, because the same type of wing tube is in my Extra with a wingspan of 1.90 m and a weight of only 7.5 kg !? Would be nice to get this information. Kind regards Rainer |
RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Hello Rainer,
The main spar you received is the original aircraft grade alluminium spar. We changed to a chinese extruded alluminium spar - but found the QC was really bad and it ended up in some spars bending. We had to order thicker extruded spars to compensate for bad chinese alluminium. It was too heavy (we feel) and opted to return to the more exspensive aircraft grade alluminium spar. Hope this clear some misunderstanding. Morne |
RE: Another Skymaster Viper
I remember reading a post some time ago where someone replaced the wingtube with a carbon fibre one. Does anyone know of a supplier of suitable carbon fibre tubes, preferably in Europe?

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Start reading from about page 40 for 2 pages.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_87...40/key_/tm.htm If your tube has the brace and 0.061 wall you need a replacement. PaulD |

Here's some pictures of my painted and flown (finally) Viper.
Paint is by the master LGMGraphix - Jeremy with whom I had the great pleasure of working alongside. Thanks my good friend. I have a whole new appreciation of what goes into a professional paint job of this quality. Cheers, PaulD |
RE: Another Skymaster Viper
I definitely need to put something on that fin though Paul, it's way to blue haha

Hi Morn
Thanks for your feedback and sorry for my late reply but i was on a business trip. In the meantime i made two pictures of my main spare and, excuse me, but i'm not sure, even it is aircraft grade aluminium, if 1.1 mm is strong enough to keep the wings straight during a "power looping" or a rough landing http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ssed_smile.gif Please let me know, if this is the main spare SM supply now with the Viper. Thanks in advance. Best regards Rainer |
