it's "special heat treated steel" according to the HPI site.
Anyway, I need some info about "shimming" my diffs. Anyone with some pictures or guides on what to do? I'm ordering the HD gears this weekend, since I'm planning on putting an OS cv-rx too.

just put in my order for the engine, two sets of diffs and diff oil. i dunno why i changed my mind, but im still getting it, just at a later date. trying to stretch my money, had 207 bucks to spend on the truck, so i get more this way, plus towerhobbies had a 20 dollar discount on orders 125 and over, so i still have cash left over.

itll fit with no mods. I had one on mine, just traded that engine for a savage rolling chassis. its actually quite powerful too. the only thing i didnt like about it was the rotary carb instead of slide.

Hi there, interested how you'll manage the exhaust? Since the TZ-TX comes with a rear exhaust, I'm curious how you'll do that.

Redfox, what exhaust are you going to use on the O.S. motor? I'm still interested in slamming one of those in my RS4 Evo.

Correct. That is the right place for them. I used either 3 or 4 of the shims that come with the hd gears. I think they are 0.1mm. If it is too tight, the diff shouldn't rotate very easily. When it's right, it should rotate like there are no shims in at all, minus the slack that comes from no shims.

I need a new engine for my MT2, I have the two speed trans in it and I am just not happy with the Nitro .15 stock. I want an engine that will make my MT2 do wheelies, will the OS .18 CV-R do that, or do I have to go to something else? PS, does anyone know of a Video of an MT2 doing wheelies?

Look to a savage or t-maxx or other true "monster truck" if you are looking to do wheelies. I have the savage's .25 motor in mine which is rated at 2.5 hp and it still won't do them. All it does is spin like crazy or just squat the rear end and go. It will do unintentional donuts though, but no wheelies. The build and physics of this truck are just all wrong for those kinds of stunts. It's meant to handle well and stay flat on the corners. If you want a truck that won't keep the front end on the ground, the best bet is an E-maxx. The roof of my body on that one is severely damaged due to passing the bumper and just flipping straight to the roof.

the bigger the larger spur gear the slower it will go but it will accelerate quicker
the smaller it will have a highr top speed but acclerate slower.

just think of a 10 speed bike. The smaller gear on the back(same as the clutch bell gear) and the larger gear on the front of the bike (spur gear)

and just remember what happens when you shift and you'll understand how gear ratios work.

Which TSAIS pipe is better, the rear exhaust "Nitro Devil", or the side "Bad Boy" pipe? And do they both come with a header set or do you have to buy that seperately?
