yeh i thought about making a skid for it. More like a small tube bumper. I'll see what happens.

I chose the slide carb because I heard they have a better/smoother throttle response

i wanna get a new engine and i dont think the tz is worth the money because the cv-rx is so much cheaper and dont think the power is that much more in the tz

Half a horse power is not that much on a 5 pound truck YA RIGHT. Most .21 big blocks are only claimed 2.5 HP at the most on an 8 or so pound buggy. Most can see where there is a BIG difference. Yes the best bet for you is the CV-R but there is a BIG difference when you talk all out speed. Do not worry with the CV-R you will find the weak points in your truck.

They use to say rotary was best for off road and slide better for on road but I think this has changed. I do not think there is that much difference between the two. Now keep in mind the stock on the MT is rotary so if you go slide you will have to make some changes.

Hard to say as I am not you. I have the MT and the Savage plus others. I do know that I would not get the 3.3 Revo. Now if they made the Revo in a kit with out the engine and radio then I would consider it.

A lot of variables in the tire question. Where are you going to run are you going to race on or off road, what terrain and so on? Then a lot of it will boil down to personal preference. The Dirt Bonz worked well for me on the track but wear out fairly quick. The Pro Line Bowie Ties are about the same but hold up better.

Never owned a .18 CV-RX but did own a .15 CV-RX they do not even make it any more and there was no way I could get the front wheels off the ground. But I do know with the TZ I had to gear it up just to keep them on the ground some of the time.

I do not hate them just do not like their RTR, which is all they make. Acutely I like them as I win so many races because they break and cannot make it to the A main. LOL if they made kits like they use to I would consider a Revo. But I just cannot see shelling out the money to buy a Revo RTR and then having to get rid of the radio system, engine and A arms then replace all of that to make a good truck. I buy very little RTR vehicles as you just end up with a much better vehicle from a kit and in the long run cost less. I do not like the RTR MT and if I were to get a new one the only one I would get is the SS and then I would sell the engine on ebay and get another engine. That is why I liked my MT when I got it so much as when I got it as it came with out radio and engine in a kit. My Savage was a kit but did come with the best big block HPI made to date. My Hyper 8 was kind of a kit and did not come with radio or engine.

Even if you ask Traxxas which I have they will tell you they cater mostly to people just getting in to the hobby and is why they do not make kits any more. Most people that get in to RC do not stay in it for very long so the biggest market is the beginners. They just do not care about the hard core RC people! There are other reasons but I have said enough or maybe too much.

This is just my opinion.
