Do you have problems with the engine over heating? I do not have a problem with just the back top cut out and a hole in the windshield when it is 100 degrees out side. You all so get pretty good airflow from under the body. But if you just looking for something to play around with go for it. Post pictures if you do.

lol got me there..but actually i was comparing speed as i only have 1 onroad and 1 off road atm. so if i was maybe talking ABout which 1 drifts better or which 1 jumps better would be apples n oranges yes?
No offense but where you surprised which one won?

no but the whole point was seeing how good the mt2 did vs a 70+ mph r/c on road

All

NEVER CUT YOUR RX ANTENNA WIRE ON ANY AM OR FM RADIO, you will definitely have problems with it going out of range as close as 10ft. The RX antenna wire is cut to size using special tuning tools at the factory, no 2 RX antenna wires are the same length even though they may look like the same. Back in the day if we had to replace an RX antenna wire I would install a new one 2ft long, then I would have one of my friends go a block away with the TX while I had the car. Then I would have my friend move the steering back and forth while I cut the wire down in 1/2in increments until it was not glitching anymore. This was the best way to tune it without sending the RX back to the factory for tuning. The factory of coarse has special tuning tools to make it perfect but my method worked pretty good. I got this tip from a seasoned guy I trusted in my LHS many years ago.

As for the Nitro Devil rear pipe I have one and I love it. I switched from a ported stock HPI header and a tunable Cvec pipe. When I installed the rear exhaust I noticed I got more bottom end power and slightly less top end which I was happy with. I rather have more bottom end power (torque) then top end power (HP). It helps the truck power through the rough terrain like grass better. As for it getting damaged I have not had a problem as of yet. I did have to readjust the header pipe a couple of times by bending it away from the shock towards the center of the truck so it would not interfere with the trucks full range of motion rubbing against the shock. But I do have my shocks moved in one hole on the shock tower, which gives me less room to work with. The header pipe is very soft aluminum and bends easy. I hope I never have to replace it because I readjusted it too many times.

Sounds like you have problems with you clutch engaging too early. You will have to take apart the clutch assembly and make sure everything is in working order. You might as well replace the original clutch and clutch bell with a new [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLW03&P=7]HPI racing clutch [/link] and [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLST6&P=7]clutch bell [/link] while you have it apart. You will also need to buy bearings for the new clutch bell, I am not sure what size bearings are needed sorry. The stock equipment is not the best and has durability issues.

The only thing I can think of is that you have a MAJOR air leak. That is the only way your motor is going to throttle up without you opening the carb.

Is your idle stop screw adjusted properly? You should be able to close the carb enough to slow down the idle.

What kind of design are you going to paint on it? I'm getting this airbrushing down. Of course I'm getting used to it now after I did the shadow which should be a lot lighter but it still looks decent. I'm buying a few more bodies after the holidays. I want to paint some more now!

are your tribal flames going to be solid colored? I thought about doing flames too. I started doing a template for them.

I'll be doing the part behind the torn effect fluorescent red backed with white to make it bright. Hopefully it is eye catching!

This is all for my girlfriend's younger brother. It is going to be his xmas gift.

Bought him some black hpi split 5 wheels and some new proline dirt hawg tires. I'm putting together a complete truck for him from parts I had leftover.

It'll have the T15 motor, this body and wheelset I mentioned above, venom temp/failsafe, aftermarket 3mm chassis and I'm thinking about putting my THS racing pipe on it too but i'm not sure yet. Either that or the stock pipe and the stock pipe is so horrible.....

I commend all that have the patients to do a nice paint job on a body! I just do not take the time, as I know in six months I will have to replace it. I have often then thought about doing one just to put on while it was sitting but never have. Yes keep us up dated and keep the pictures coming.

ok guys ive noticed something. When i spin the back *wheel* foward the front wheels spin to. so does the clutch bell. is this normal? i thought when you spun both back wheels foward this is ment to happen?...i took it out for a spin and its not as bad as it was but still losen abit of power? [&:] im so confused on what it could be...could my slipper pad be glazed? so i would need to roughten it up? or maybe because ive got a new exhaust my slipper clutch setting would need to be tighter?

the power from that exhaust won't be enough to make serious adjustments on the truck.

Depending on how tight your diffs are you might get the front wheels to spin by spinning one back wheel. If your diffs are loose then the oppsoite rear tire will just spin the opposite way.

If you put the truck down on the ground and hold the spur gear and push the truck does the truck roll easiily or does the spur gear try to turn with the truck?

I'll keep you updated on the body. Hopefully it'll start looking better tomorrow or friday. I'm hoping at the end of day friday it will be finished.

I'm mounting up the tires tonight. I'm hoping to try out that tape trick to keep them from ballooning. Hopefully it works!

hmm well should they be loose or tight because by taking what ur saying into consideration my came loose from the hpi factory w/e. when 1 wheel is spun the other spins the opposite way

btw nice job so far on paint post another pic when u get more paint on it :P
