i shall try the spur gear trick. when i spin the back wheel the front ones spin foward and the back one spins the opposit way. Are the front wheels ment to spin foward when i spin 1 back wheel foward? thanks.

the power from that exhaust won't be enough to make serious adjustments on the truck.

Depending on how tight your diffs are you might get the front wheels to spin by spinning one back wheel. If your diffs are loose then the oppsoite rear tire will just spin the opposite way.

If you put the truck down on the ground and hold the spur gear and push the truck does the truck roll easiily or does the spur gear try to turn with the truck?

I'll keep you updated on the body. Hopefully it'll start looking better tomorrow or friday. I'm hoping at the end of day friday it will be finished.

I'm mounting up the tires tonight. I'm hoping to try out that tape trick to keep them from ballooning. Hopefully it works!

hmm well should they be loose or tight because by taking what ur saying into consideration my came loose from the hpi factory w/e. when 1 wheel is spun the other spins the opposite way

I guess there is really no right or wrong as to how it works. The grease in the diff can make the differece in being a tight or loose diff. If you run thick grease in the diff then it will be right and those tires won't spin in opposite directions easily. If you use light grease then the diff will spin more freely meaning when you spin one wheel the other wheel will spin the opposite direction easier.

Sometimes new diffs are tighter because the gears aren't worn, while worn diffs spin easier.

I like to use a medium grease lightly packed so that the tires will spin opposite each other but not to easily. If it spins to easily then it is easy for one tire in the back to lose traction and balloon up.

Here is something to try. turn the truck upside down and grab one rear tire with each hand and turn them in the opposite direction. They should turn easily without any grinding or clicking. both the front wheels and the rear wheels should do this.

If for some reason they don't spin freely don't try to make them spin. This might mean that your ring and pinion are chewed up.

You guys might want to read up on this. It is how a cars differential works. It's not the EXACT same as our trucks but it is REALLY close. If you scroll down about halfway through the page there is an animation on how our open diff trucks work.

No idea yet. there are a lot of things it could be. Narrowing down what it is can be tricky sometimes, especially over a forum.

yes the high speed needle, well it was just a thaught because when i was just learning and yes i am still learning my mt2 felt like it was loosing power when i was at full throttle i opened carb bit at a time or close which ever the case and havent had a problem since some people find it hard to tune but all you have to do is observe by trial and error and learn the prinsiples of the carb setting at the time you are running.only my thaughts and oppinions that all .

I highly doubt it is tuning since you said it seems more like slipping and the motor still revs up, the motor does rev up correct? the truck just doesn't accelerate while the motor is revving up?

the truck revs up fine. the bottom end is there so is mid it gets into the highs and just sounds like there is a slipping somewere. and i know its not as fast as it use to be. its like something is slipping, maybe the slipper pad is not gripping so i might need to roughen that up. i doubt its a diff problem.

As I said before when talking about your problem I do believe you will find it is either one of the differentials or the slipper. Yes I recommend taking them apart and checking them. This will all so be a good time to service and shim the diffs.

Been finding parts for my 1 to 1 car so I can start going to tracks around Georgia and RACE as I am going crazy since the local track closed!!! We have one track 70 miles away and one 60 as well as others farther away.

Here a few pictures for one of the tracks I took this past summer at the last round of the Georgia Champion Ship Series.

All so a link to Loganville track.

Do not buy an aluminum bumper as it will bend and you will bend it back and after dong that for a while it will break been there done that! Plastic has more give and a lot cheaper to replace.

if u keep ur engine tuned usually ur engine will start up in 1-2 swift quick pulls

i took the car up a ramp and i noticed just the front wheels where wheel spinning on the ramp, and the back ones not moving at all. maybe this is my problem, so i lifted the car up and gave it a rev and all the wheels spun? what the hell? so i took the rear diff appart and noticed the big gear is slightly worn, could this be my problem? ill get a shot of it so you guys can tell me if it is or if its not

I have never own a roto starter and until I got my buggy about 3 months ago all I ever had was pull starters. Now for my buggy I have a bump box. I even have a pull starter on my Savage and it starts like a champ. Like I tell people there is no such thing as a hard staring engine just one that is out of tune or needs engine work.
