Hello everyone haven`t posted in awhile but anyway i took out the ofna picco outlaw .26 and put back in my ofna 8 port .21.http://image2-0.rcuniverse.com/e1/forum/micons/m14.gif
http://image2-0.rcuniverse.com/e1/forum/micons/m14.gif the .26 was fine on pavement (man you had to have full focus on where you was pointing that bullet at all times crazy fun) but on grass that good old weaklink in the drivetrain the diffs went, sherded them to piecies will show 1 day,but was thinking maybe i should invest in metal housing.anyway want to know what engine is best O.S. Max .21 VG-P or
.21 Hyper 8-Port Race. I can not do the .18 thing just to used to torque of the .21+ POWER.and with the slipper clutch proper hardend diffs
and shims .21 no problem unless you jump i dont jump i drive my truck as if i was in ithttp://image2-0.rcuniverse.com/e1/forum/micons/m16.gif

you can get aluminum diff cups and aluminum cases, I thought I would have much more problems with a brushless system in an mt2 but so far I only got the aluminum diff cases and its held up great, I will order the diff cups once I have a failure

i'm thinking of putting the 18 tz on my mt2... wondered what one i am supposed to get... (model #)..... so the clutch bell fits etc.... since it is a slide instead of a rotary, do i need any special linkages from hpi to convert?/. thanks for the help paul

This is the one you want.

Make sure you have your drive train beefed up as much as possible or you will not get much run time with this engine as it is a beast. I know been there done that and have the tee shirt. [X(]
This TZ has a rotary carb and should bolt right up.

I run the OS 18 TZ in my MT which has as much HP as some big blocks even more then some. Took me a while to get the drive train where it would hole up but the last couple of times I ran it no problem. I do know I had to gear it REALLY HIGH just to keep the front wheels on the ground most of the time.

hey, thanks a lot, but i've had trouble with the rotary throttle arm... also, the shaft isnt the same as the t-15 i've got on mine... (yes i have the rtr, but i've got hardened diffs)... my clutch bell gets held on with a screw.. so i was thinking i needed this one http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHLV6&P=ML because it has the pilot shaft... do i need this though.. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRD81&P=7 b/c i will have to switch from a rotary to a slide???

is the 21/28/or the 30vg too big for an mt2 with beefed up drivetrain? will it fit.? thanks for the help paul

The one I have listed in my post above is the one I have in my MT and I am running the HPI race clutch with the Savage vented race CB. You will need more then just hardened final gears to run this engine.

Your T 15 has this part look at the link below that has the hole for the screw you talk about and you will need to use it with the engine I listed. Your T15 DOES NOT have a pilot shaft! You might be able to use a pilot shaft engine but I do not know as I have never tried with my MT.

Which is best, the rotary or the slide carb?

That is a matter of personal preface. This is what they have on towers about the two.

COMMENTS: Some notes on slide valve and rotary carburetors:
Rotary carbs offer a larger response in the middle of the power
band. This works well for off-road applications when throttle
response must be varied.
Slide Valve carbs provide greater response at the beginning and end
of the power band. This works well for on-road and racing
applications for fast take-offs and high speed.

The OS 18 TZ has more HP then any other small block made.
http://www.osengines.com/reviews/osm...st-rcnitro.pdf

I have no idea how fast it goes but do know it is a hand full to handle.

I run the stock flywheel and the HPI race clutch with the Savage vented Race CB.

I am running the HPI header.

Tuned pipe is an OS T-1040 R70.

I got the HPI racing clutch a few months ago, on the instructions it has 3 different ways to installing it, by cutting it and using different holes.
For the people that have it, what setup are you using???

1- engage at low RPM for smooth acceleration
2- engage at higher RPM for more bottom end
3- engage at higher RPM for even more bottom end

What does "more bottom end" means??? More top speed???? More torque????

Most of my driving is parking lot.

Thanks
