you shouldn't need a steel spur. If you do becuase the plastic spurs are melting, check your mesh with a peice of paper, and check the clutch bearings.
A steel spur simply passes the damage to the next weekest component, which is your engine.

I dont have an mt 2 yet, and not sure if I will. I am just doing some research on what there is for this truck. One other question I have is about the diffs. Are they sealed so that silicone diff fluid can be used, and can they handle the power of an os .18 tz?

No they are not sealed, springs are avaliable instead of diff oil and have the same effect, except, they do wear the spider gears a little faster.
The diff, when shimmed correctly, can handle the power (or so im told on this thread). You may need a rear alloy diff case used in conjunction with the stock plastic cup.

ok, i got mine today, have not had any time to really look at it or run it.
I did notice the rear flexes a bit. Is there a fix?

Hey I have an odd question, where can I get a #73100 Woven Graphite Upper Deck? I went to hobby town, hobby people, ebay (online), and pegasus hobbies (online), but I didn't find it.

Have to play catch up, as I have not checked in lately. Yes there is a half lean problem with the Savage tank and I refuse to go to a smaller tank on my Savage. I have no problem tuning it where it is a little rich when full and just right at half tanks and my temperatures do not very but about 25 degrees.
Yes they have metal spurs for the MT2 as they are they same thing as the Savage and they make them for the Savage as low as 47 tooth. I have never needed a metal one in either my Savage or my MT and I run an OS 18 TZ in my MT and never had a problem with the plastic spur. The plastic spur in my Savage has well over 6 gallons on it. If you have problems with the spurs either you are not setting the mesh properly or your clutch is slipping so bad it is heating up the CB and melting the spur. The biggest problem with metal spur gears is rotating weight is a big HP eater.
I have never had a problem with my spider gears wearing quicker with the diff springs.

Hello im new in the forum here is a picture of my trucks

My MT2 is mostly stock, i put a futaba 75mhz radio and receiver, a failsafe and just ordered a GPM alloy front knuckle and c-hubs it needs a new tires for on road and stiffer springs so i can lower for racing because stock ones makes me roll very easy letme know what you think.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure the GPM parts will be OK just do not like GPM parts much prefer billet parts where GPM are cast.
Thanx 46 i use my MT2 for race against TMAXX, REVOS and SAVAGES twice a month i think that GPM parts will be ok too for what i need not to mention low budget, we race on the parking lot of my LHS thats why i need some new things to keep the truck on the ground while cornering so i can beat those monsters while they are rolling

I came across a full on roll cage being produced for the MT2 by RC Solutions on ebay (check link below). Anyone familiar with this product. My question would be the weight issue it might pose and how durable is it really?

I have that same roll cage on my MT-2 and it didn't add much weight to it and it is very solid pretty easy install as well not sure exactly what it is made of but it is very lightweight but sturdy. Also you more then likely will need to cut a bigger opening at the back of the body in order for it to fit on over the cage but that isn't that big of a deal. All in all I say it is a pretty good buy.
Here is a link to a picture of my truck you can kinda see the cage when you look at the back. I painted the cage silver so it looked better with my custom body.

Has anyone had any problems with the new mt2 g3.0? I just got mine about three weeks ago and have ran about 6 tanks through it. I have 4 other nitro cars and I am pretty good at tuning the carbs although I am not an expert. My new 3.0 (.18) does not seem to have near the power that it should. It runs great at high rpm's but has trouble getting there. It seems like it is running rich but I am sure it is not. Temps are around 265-275. It just seems to bog alot at low speed under load. I have checked obvious things like a bound drivetrain, brakes etc. It doesn't have the "snap" that it should during take off. Is this normal? Am I being too picky?

hmm, i noticed mine does this also. I just got mine on Wednesday and fired it up today. mine was slightly used so break in was done all ready.
I think the best thing is a new pipe. A single chamber to be exact. I believe the stock one is a dual and is for more top end.
Your temps are high by the way. Book says 250 tops. I know that is not all ways true but i like to stick to it.
How is your LSN pinch? I am wondering if your HSN is too lean (causing high temps) and your LSN is too rich(causing it to be bogging). Try the pinch test at a little less than half a tank and it normal running temps and see what you find.
If you are unsure about what the pinch test is let me know. I can help.

I believe the carb opening is bigger on the TM. i also think it is a little larger displacement. If i was to drop a .18 in mine i would rather have the rear exhaust and slide carb personally.
Thanks Muck I will try it and let you know. I am pretty sure that Ive checked this, but the weather has changed in the last few days. I will check it again.
