that score business on the left is something new, I saw a few threads/posts on it but didnt read it too thoroughly. I think it has something to do with rating posts to show how useful the post information is??....something about giving guidance to newbs??..idk. some nonsense if you ask me that I have no intention of paying any attention to.
so my friend is selling me a nib O.S. 18 TZ for a nice price so looks like I will have a little hot rod MT2 in a while woohooo. but it will be at least several weeks before I put it in.

Im not sure how long the plug lasts yet. Mine is still going strong. Seems to be a pretty good plug that came with it.
I have a CVEC pipe on the LRP. Im not sure if its giving me the max power from the engine or not though. Ive been looking around for other small block pipes but I havent found much.
Ok and yes that score seems to be the rating system. If you look on the bottom of each message you'll a rate it button now. It doesnt mean much but Iguess if you find a post useful you can rate it and it will improve the posters score.

I found what you wrote was very useful so I just gave you a 5 star rating Keith!

I gave you a five star as well Keith for all the good help you give - I see you are at 110 now! Congratulations (a bit of a sarcastic tone but the credit is deserved).

Thanks guys I try.The Associated pipe is supposed to be good, and so is the trinity pipe. I actually have a BUKU on my TZ that I got a really good price on. It seems to go well with the engine.
The CVEC was supposedly the predecessor to the BUKU, it works on the same principal that the pipe length changes internally to adjust to rpms for maximum power. Not sure if I have the CVEC set to the right tension for the LRP though. I have to try a few different settings.
Im still tuning the BUKU with the TZ too. The TZ has so much power though that its hard to tell if its not tuned for max performance....[8D]

I did some reading and I hear that the stock blue revo pipe with the stinger drilled out a bit is supoosed to be a good pipe with the tz. As far as the tz goes with glow plugs, I ran mine for about a summer and still havent burned out a plug. Im glad they last because my lhs wants 16 dollars each for them. Does anybody know anything about putting a picco 26 jl red dot into a revo? Im having some issues but of course..... the "revo" threads are dead.
oh and I thought that I would mention that the score is like golf
the lower the better so it looks like im doing good lol

Here is a short video of the boot leg ramp I built. Im running the Hellfire here cause I dont think the MT2 could take the landings.

Nice video - how do you like the hellfire? I am interested in adding a 1/8 truggy or baja.
Question for GPM shock owners - I snapped a shock shaft in a spectacular end over end with my firestorm. The truck has an os.21vg and tumbled endlessly on asphalt and that was the only damage. I think I know the answer to this, but can I get parts for those shocks?

Its a good solid truck. And as you can see it jumps pretty well.
You should be able to get parts for the shocks online. I havent actually checed myself but since Ihave 2 sets I probably should....

Cant get actual GPM parts but if you go to the lhs there are some shock shafts and ends that will work in them. Thats what I did

[:@] Theres always somthing wrong with my MT2.. i checked the diffs but they seem to be fine, i am guessing the slipper or clutch needs sorting. Need to sit down one day and get it fixed. It just keeps revving and doesnt actually move anywhere. So many troubles and so little play time. Makes me think of going to.. [X(] electric. [&o] Just be cleaner and easier to use.. and could even play with it in the house [
] .. I need something to tinker with when i'm not racking my brains over the mt2, any suggestions? .. might even start building static models
P.S cheers for the video on bodyclip upgrades.. it seems so simple now.

alright to fix your mt2
you need to sit sown take the motor out raidio box and gearbox pull the gear assembly out and tighten the slipper clutch rightdown and losen 1/2 a turn to a turn and check your clutch is not burnt out or broken make sure all the screws in the things that hold the dogbones not sure what there called are tight and if could also be your engine is over rich or lost compression today blew up my 18ss motor[

Thanks for that. any ideas on whati can get when the mt2 is down.. or the weather is messed up, or i have not got no fuel, or its night and can't wake the neighbours.. god nitro is only for those who a little bit loopy.
I love it
.. cheers hpidude101.. never knew this thread was going to be this popular. Got to thank HPI for bringing out its successors though..

Hey, Nitro-napalm. You can also check your clutch shoes to make sure they're grabbing. While you're at it, clean and scuff the inside of the bell, and file off any burrs on the shoes (if there are any). Also check the stuff hpidude told you. My MT2 is down too. I busted a connecting rod, but have a .18 Outlaw engine coming. I can't wait. In the meantime I'm running my Savage and my Schumacher XT3.
Lots of electric choices. It kinda depends on what your looking for, ie. scale, type (monster, stadium, buggy, crawler, road) 4wd or 2wd. If you want to play inside, I'd go with a tiny scale like a micro-t or something along that line. I've found that unless you have a huge house 1/18th scale or larger is just too big, unless you're crawling (which is fun).

hey Nitro napalm how about a nice little Tamiya electric to keep you sane while dealing with the MT2 problems. Speaking of electrics, do you guys think HPI would make a brushless MT2? They have the 2wd brushless just thought it was a possibility they would have an electric 4wd stadium truck. not that I want one cause Im much more a nitro guy...
Im a little bummed...I went to check out my friends OS TZ but it is the bump start version (#11940) and I was under the impression it is the pull start. Is anyone running a bump TZ in their rig? I dont think I want to mess with starter boxes though I guess it would be easier than having to deal with pull starts (the one way on my 18 cv-rx is a hassle) I looked into converting it to pull but it would cost too much because you need the crank with the start nub on the crankpin. I will probably pass it by if anyone wants a never ran bump start TZ #11940 for $110 lmk
