Looks clean because its almost brand new. The guy I bought it off ran only 1 tank through it. I completed the break-in on the stock motor, then dropped in the OS.
There are a few parks by me to run it.
Where in NY are you?

Im in Suffolk. Do you run at Flushing Meadow? I know there used to be an old oval over towards Bayside.

I run at either Crocheron Park, Kissena Park or anywhere else I can find!

not that i can see. there is no mention that the heat sink has a under head in the manual, how does it normally come out ?? this heat sink is different to the normal hpi 1794 and cannot be be bought new
has someone got a manual for normal mt2 to check if its detailed in their manual
i moved the rod before but it resulted in too much steering and on tight turns the tires fowl the metal upright

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
How much of a performance difference is there between the OS18CVRX and the OS18TZ? I read a few pages back, but I didn't get a solid answer if the 3-shoe clutch from a Savage would work on the MT2 with a few washers behind the flywheel? For those of you running a two shoe clutch, what aluminum shoes are out there? What would be the best clutch set-up for the OS18CVR; 2-shoe, 3-shoe, or the HPI racing shoe set?
Anyone manage to put in the 2-speed transmission from the RS4 3?

The CVR and TZ and like night and day. Both are excellent engines but the power of the TZ is like having a big block. You can use the regular savage aluminum shoes on the two shoe set up, just use two shoes.
The alum clutch shoes are the way to go though. They grab much harder and they will last longer with the power of the TZ.

Oh sorry about that. I thought you had the other engine. That head is a one piece. Im not even sure if you can get a replacement head for that. Id try contacting HPI directly and see if they have any available or if they can tell you which one would be a direct replacement.

Not bad, so what is the estimated speed of a MT2 with a OS18CVR/stock aluminum exhaust and a single speed...and a 2-speed?

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
But I think there is a misunderstanding people thinking a 2 speed is faster then a single speed. And when I mean faster I'm refereeing to TOP speed.
Let me see if I can explain:this is an example.
If you are using single speed 16/49 top speed is 45mph, it takes you 8 seconds to reach that speed- example only
You go to a 2-speed clutch bell 13/16 and a 46/49 spur gear your top speed will still be the same, however it will get you faster to the top speed of 45mph - maybe 6 seconds (another example) it doesn't make you any faster, but will get you to top speed faster.
Every motor is different it will get to a point that the motor just can't go any faster, regardless of what gear you put in it.
If you start putting high gears you will lose torque and TOP speed will not increase....it will actually decrease because the motor just can't reach it's peak RPM
You really have to test to see what gear is best for each specific motor.
i just posted this so people don't get disappointing by going to a 2 speed thinking they will have a TOP speed world record car...it takes more than just putting in a 2-speed tranny.
Choosing the right gearing and tuning makes a big difference.

Vinnie - I recognize that shop chair....Canadian Tire rules. Mine snapped off just under the seat.
So did mine...........
I now have 5 bolts holding it together...it works fine.
Drilled five holes and put bolts on it.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
what tires should i get for my mt2 for it not to pitch sideways on blacktop and concrete when i hit wide open throttle? i have road rages and it pitches sideways all the time and all it has is an os 18 cv-r. i put the mashers and stock tires and it does the same. on dirt it flies as straight as an arrow but on hard surfaces forget about it lol
