I've been wanting to race my xcell for a while now. But first I need a few upgrades. Will a JP-2 fit the XTM .18? More Importantly, are .18 engines legal in non-ROAR races?

Real quick all I need is for someone to tell me where I can buy a replacement pull stater for x-cellerator. It can be stock or something that will work I don't care. I need the whole set up because the one on there now just slips and wont start it. Thank you.

Sorry there HummrH I've been stuck working on darn PC's this last few weeks and haven't gotten on here to much...........its not your pull start M8 its the one way bearing probably, thats the only thing that slips. If you very carefully remove the pull start and then the bearing (make sure you see which way the bearing goes on, put it on backwards it won't work) clean it with carb cleaner real well and wipe off the shaft on the crank and your problem should be gone. If not then PM me and I'll pick it up in my e-mail and get back to you

I was looking to get some help without starting a new thread, so maybe you guys can help me.
When I was running my X-Cellerator the other day, I lost my air filter somewhere. Where is the best place online to buy one complete as my local hobby shop does not carry XTM products?
Also I broke my Front Bulkhead and my Steering Brace. Before I buy a new plastic one, does anyone make metal upgrade versions? I'd just rather buy something with some better durability.
Is there any real sites with Nitro X-Cellerator upgrades?

Give this guy a call. I get all my stuff from him. I know he has some aluminum parts for the x-cell as well.

Thanks for the link I will definitely check that site out. I'm also looking at hobbypeople.net. Has anyone heard any good or bad things about them?
Also I'm looking for street slicks to drive around on the pavement, what do I look for when buying those like sizes etc...

Will I need to buy rims, or does it come with them, what about foam and gluing?

ya i have those and they are good. most likely need to buy rims (4). tires that i have always bought come with foam inserts but i have only picked tires up from hobby people store near me. since you'll prob need to buy rims, you'll need to glue them with super glue. if you don't know how to glue the tires, you can look up the process online at several sites. good luck.

Yeah, hes a great guy to deal with. He knows his stuff and he doesnt try to mess with people.
They come with the foam inserts, and no rims. But you can peel off your old tires and glue the new ones on.

Well, I bought the X-Cellerator, very fast I was impressed. A couple of questions, where's a good starting point for the high speed jet on an engine that's been broken in, I believe 3 turns out is what is recommended for break-in, also what's a good glow plug for the .18 engine?
Thanks for any replies.

[:-]Hey Kid welcome to the XTM world and if you need any help myself or Global Hobby will be more than willing to give a hand. In google search type in xtm dealer and you will find lots of sites to help you. Small block engines should use a cold plug most of the time under normal circumstances. The reason for that is the smaller engine has a harder time cooling off due to the very small metal mass of the engine. Larger blocks stay cooler because of the larger block and head (engine mass) thats the basics though. The colder it gets the more you will need the heat to make the engine fire properly, so where your at right about now its probably pretty cold.......under 50 degrees I would think, The warm plug is what I use under 90 degrees and above 50 ( XTM #4) under 50 degrees I use the hot plug (XTM #3) to keep the temps up and get proper firing. Its all a game of differences in temp and moisture in the air. Those things will change the needs your truck to run properly. So adjustment can be on a run to run bassis as a day goes on. I could start racing on Saturday morning early at say 3 turns out and buy 12 noon get the best preformance at 3 and 1/2 turns out and back as it cools in the evening. Those are just vage examples, but for the most part what it takes to play with an RC nitro car or truck. [:-]
You got one heck of a deal on that purchase and you can keep it going for a lot of years if you so choose to........for that purchase new you would go in well over $300.00
This sport is not cheap by any means and if your not willing to invest time and money you will never be happy with the sport [X(]
Good luck and hope to see you back in the forums here..........give me a pm if you would like to know another good place for information [:-]
