I personally think that putting anything with more power than the trx 2.5r on a rusty is a waste of power. If I were moving away from the trx's for my rusty I would look at a .12 rather than a bigger mill. When you add all of that power to a rusty all you do is make it harder to control. I put my O.S. .18 TM in my rusty for a bit with the stock gearing and it was almost uncontrollable. It took a great deal of restarint to keep it from unloading the rear end every time I tried to accelerate.

broke in the 2.5r at a local track this weekend wow that is one nice motor in my opinion is seems much smoother that my 2.5 especially at part throttle runs, got to play on the track with some other high dollar boys after i got it broke in and to my suprise the rusty was kicking ars that truck flys thru the air beautifully i did notice that after running 4 5minute sessions i a shock leaking but nothing major a big thumbs up for the rusty

The 2.5 R mates up real nice with a Rusty. I put a revo pipe on mine along with the 2.5 R and it is awesome. The REVO pipe seems to open up the bottom end just a bit more than the stock rusty pipe.

Yeah those are my street tires. I have speed paws on the back for offroad now along with edges in the front. I plan to run those hawgs till they turn into slicks though.
Tthey have 0 degree axle carriers? I have to try those. Where can i get them. The rear toe-in is not something I really want and up till now I didn't know how to remove it on the rusty. Thanks.

I cant really tell you where to get them (i got mine threw the track i go to) but i like them a lot more than the -1, its way more predictable and when your on the street it wont dance from one back wheel to the other

are you referring to rear control arm mounts or is there something else to help the rear toe problem on the rustler, i feel that is what makes them hard to control in loose dirt the rear tends to push very hard

Found em. I hadn't thought to look on the traxxas site:
ZERO-DEGREE (0 ) SUSPENSION ARM MOUNTS: Removes the rear toe-in built into the stock suspension. Use on high-traction surfaces only. These mounts will reduce stability on slippery surfaces. You can increase your truck's top speed for racing on high-bite tracks or drag racing by installing these 0 degree rear suspension arm mounts.
Part #2797 0 Degree Rear Arm Mounts (2)
Suggested retail price $2.00
Part #2798 1 degree Arm Mounts (+/- 1?) (stock rear mounts) (2)
Suggested retail price $2.00
i found them on tower, listed as mounts for a trx-1, butr according to the traxxas site, they are for the rusty, and from the pics, they look just like the rusty mounts

hey, today i squoze an os max .18 cr-v in to my 5+ year old .15pro rustler .on my 5th tank at break-in's end. i can not pull the throttle wide open, from dead start, truck flips on back. from 15 mph the thing will ride 150ft= Willie.funny how i spend lots on carbon fiber top deck, shock towers,ect.....,then need to ad weight to drive this monster.believe it or not, this might be too much. .i was running os.12 but recoil broke, for the last time. think ill fix the .12,and put it back in rusty. probably fit the .18 in my revo. bought lots of extra parts for rusty. but after 2 gallons of nitro and accumulated close to 1/4 mile of hang time(big air) still have most parts new. it's a tank. ps. don't go out and buy an os .18 for your rustler, unless you have a dremmel, patients, and money for new tires.

just a comment on your signature revokid, a stock rusty has the same engine as a revo but way less weight, so in a straight line the rusty wins, and the rusty weighs 1/4 of the revo so in the turns it also wins, so i reeeelly do hope that when ur rusty is modded you can beat a revo with it!

ok then, i just found out that on the nitro sport you can fit the standard battery pack between the top deck and the chassis, you just unscrew the top deck and push the battery flat against the front of the fuel tank and bolt it back down, it give awesome cog and weight bias

question all you rusty racers, could any one give me suggestions on tires for the rusty front and rear, im getting real close to getting the truck dialed in but on the track i can not seem to get rid of push, i moved the receiver pack which was a big help, the rear just does not want to hook unless the track is freshly watered down then it hooks really well, by the way i am running stock front tires and dirt hawgs in the rear any help would be greatly appreciated

I want to make my nitro stampede into a rustler. I know I have to get the chassis plates, but what else. I think the bulkheads are the same, maybe not. Has anyone done this? It looks easy, I don't care fot the CG on the stampede. I like the way the rustlers are set up. I used to have one. If anybody has anything let me know. Thanks
