Default RC10GT/OS Engine problem

Ok I'm new to RC's so I'm still trying to learn how to tune my RC and get it running to its full potential...

Ok I have two RC10GT i bought used, both using OS max engines........... I was able to get both up and running to where I thought was fine, then my friend told me I'm running to lean and started making adjustments to my RC's........

Well long story short with one of them it starts up and rev's at full throttle for a few seconds and spits out alot of gas through the exhaust then dies, I was able to get it to stop that, and now when it starts up it just dies........

The other one won't start at all.........

My question is how to I set both needles back to their original settings, I know the low needle is clockwise til it stops , but what about the high needle?????

How can I check to see if my engine is damaged etc etc if its more then just a tuning issue??????

Thank You

ok get on o.s. and get the manuel to the engine and set it back to factory tunning. make sure your trim is adjusted ok also. after you get it starter lean it out a little not to much. you wanna beable to see smoke coming out the exhaust. if you can get a temp gun and make sure it runs at 230 or below.

I have the manual, but it doesn't state what the stock setting is for the high needle, i guess imma close both up and just try and go from there by slowing adjusting both needles......

Ok this is getting frustrating..............

I am still having problems with my OS max .15cv (older engine).........

I closed both the low speed and high speed needles all the way, then turned the high speed needle anywhere from 3 to 4 turns, and turned the low needle from 1 1/2 to 2 turns.......... The same thing keps happening to where as soon as I get the motor to start it'll rev up as if I were pressing down full throttle for a few seconds while spitting out alot of gas from the exhaust then shut down................

If anyone can please help it'll be greatly appreciated, if I can't get this to work I'm going to try and take it to a hobby people or busy bee in my area to see what they can do , but I'd rather see if I can fix it myself with some ideas and help on how to do so............ Thank You

I was some what having the same issue with my GT. It would rev up then die. Do the tires spin when it revs up? Mine did not and I found the fly wheel was lose. If you have the engine running rich when it revs then it will spit out fuel. I ended up buying a new fly wheel and collet and never had the issue again.

Ok guys I feel like an idiot.......... I re-read the manual and realized I was setting the needles wrong, I got mixed up with the high speed and low speed settings........ When it was talking about closing the needle and then opening it up 2-3 turns for some reason I was thinking it was talking about the low needle lol (yeah I'm new to RC's so don't be to harsh) so what I was doing was closing the high speed and I opened that up 3 turns, and I closed the low speed and opened that 2 turns......... so this was causing my problem......... I'm not at home so I can't try it out but I'm positive that was my problem.... The directions call for making the low end needle flush then closing it a 1/2 turn for it to be set back to factory................ MAN I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT RIGHT NOW, BUT HOPEFULLY THAT FIXES THE PROBLEM WHEN I GET HOME ;-)
