Hi Mike,

I am a Comp-ARF Rep and you can order one from www.composite-arf.com . The Impact has all the changes plus from what I had discussed with Andreas for a "new" pattern plane. The current Rev-Pro I have electrified is a standard Rev-Pro. I have a white one due in this week that I will probably cut the fillets off of. I may also have a fiberglass canopy made instead of the clear one that comes with the kit. Other than that, this white one will be stock. I have ordered an Impact, but with a due date of June, I'm not sure if I'll have time to finish it before the NATS/Team Trials. I don't know anything else about the Impact other than what is posted on the site.

Here is my Smaragd that crashed first flight 3 weeks ago. Don't know what the repaired weight is and she hasn't flown yet. Had to rebuild the entire front end. Am happy with the results but don't look too close, up close.

Weight after repairs is 10lb straight up(yee haw). YS Dz for propulsion. Hope to fly next week.

Here's my backup to my Eclipse. Widebody 60 with YS 91 hitec digitals all around. Only three flights on it now after a deadstick, should be back in the air shortly. Even with so little time I know it is going to be one of my favorites.

Sweet, Rodney. Is that fuse wood or nomex? 9.2 lbs is darned good. Although honestly, it might be a little too light for my taste. I prefer them around 9.75-10. They seem to snap better and penetrate the wind with a slightly higher wing loading. Of course, that's just a personal preference. Most people would tell me I'm nuts. (They'd be right, but I digress.......)

I read somewhere CPLR was adding weight to his planes to handle the wind better.
He's a pretty fair pilot !!!!

The scales always swing, like a pendulum. The trick is to do what everyone else ISN'T doing, and then when they all start doing that too, already be doing something different

That's the thing with widebodys....they slow down and present beautifully, but add a 25 mph crosswind and a prophecy will hand you your tail on a plate. With the right pilot, of course. Case in point: Pensacola last weekend. Masters, everyone was flying widebodys, except Jim Thompson who was flying a Storm....it was very windy....he won. Don't be suprised to see a move back toward sleeker designs over the next few years.

It´s balsa. Nothing but the best contest grade we could find. I must give credit here to the builder - Ulysis Ibarra of Mexico City for a fine job. He´s the best scratch builder there is, in this part of the world.
At this altitude (8,000ft+ ASL), we go for the lowest weight possible. The "Tempoon" really snaps and penetrates well, but I have´nt flown in strong winds yet. I have a Dennis Hunt built wood Viper 2M (about 9.7lbs) which is great in the wind.
BTW Mike, have you heard any rumours about a change in the weight limit??

Hey Rodney,

Sorry, no news on the weight limit proposal (I assume you mean FAI, there is nothing on the table for AMA). I have heard it was proposed to increase it slightly, but I wouldn't get my hopes up (unless the french decide it's a good thing that is).

Yeah I forgot Mexico City is really high up in altitude, you definitely need a light plane to account for the change in air density. My bad.

9.2 lbs is really impressive, that's better wood than I can find. Did you paint or cover that fuse?
