Xtra-2000 (model by Dennis van den Tooren). Most F3A flyers here still use this in our competition (Netherlands). Wood build, powered by OS-160. Weight 4.9 kg. Great flying plane!

Not long been flying Pattern . . but liking it a LOT ! ! Managed to pick up this Arresti in the box cheap, and it flies unbelievably well I managed a promo point with it after only 2 brief flights before the comp !.

Has OS160FX on a Hyde 'Firm Idle' mount (custom made for me by Merle Hyde ) and a Aeroslave Carbon pipe (copied Aerobob's set-up). JR RS10DS receiver, and JR digitals . . oh . . and swaped out the heavy aluminum landing gear for Bolly Carbon. One of the pics you can notice the engine on an angle? This is to fit the side exhaust header withing the cowl.

I couldn't help but notice the little fin on top of the canopy. Looks like someone's been to Nat Penton's school of aerodynamic theory? Nice looking plane. I'd post pictures of mine, but if you've seen one Genesis, you've pretty much seen em all.

mj,

Have a look here:

http://www.insightrc.com/

It shows lots of pics and a link to the RCU thread about the Pentathlon.

Post your pattern plane pictures...

Here is my new Oxai Zeque (YS DZ 160, APC 17 x 12) and Oxai Beryll (Hacker C50 14XL, APC 20 x 15 and 20.5 x 14 pre-production sample from Chip Hyde), kits available from Central Hobbies and the ill-fated Piedmont Focus II (YS DZ 160, APC 18.1 x 10).

Futaba 9154 aileron servos with Futaba 9155 for rudder on Zeque and Beryll. The Focus II uses Futaba 9550 for ailerons and 9151 elevator and rudder.

Each model uses Jaccio 6 volt "fail safe" switch/regulator and Thunder Power 2S 910 mah for Beryll and 1320 for Zeque and Focus II.

See other RCU threads "Phoenix in Feb" and "Zeque Build GLow Powered" for additional details and flight reports.

DS8511 on rudder,

900mAh 6 cell ignition pack
Weigh's 4.5kg

Post some pictures of your pattern (practice) plane!!

This IS a stretch...I just received the photos...and I just had to share a photo or two of my new toy by Raiko Potter...a very cool "Stick Plane". This is to a stick plane what the Ferrari is to the motor car...WAY OVER THE TOP! Raiko is the 2007 USA F3A Team Assistant Manager and is just about the most creative person I know...so he agreed to build the prototype for the soon to be announced "Official 2007 USA F3A Team Stick Plane Contest" using the "Official" prototype template/pattern (See "Be a part of the 2007 USA F3A Support Team" thread on RCU).

Raiko cut this out of 1/8" plywood and MONOKOTED IT!!!! I just think it is awesome and look forward to receiving it and fighting over it with my tiny boys...

What's the airplane?...a Focus II.

Black Magic VF3 prototype. fast and dirty one day monokote scheme, for maximum visibility, no "bling".

More elsewhere soon. This one levels the paying field. Utterly.
