Robert meant to say 4% UP elevator mix to rudder input..so in right knife edge the plane pulls to the belly, add the 4% there..check again..Hope is clear this time..

I am going to try to move the tank forward, as I do not want to add any non wanted weight. My battery is all the way forward, so I have nothing else to move forward. I have my sevos in the stab, and I think that this may be throwing my balance off. I added wing adjusters to it which was a piece of cake to do. I will try and fly it on wednesday and will let you know how it flies. By the way Gregg since your does not pull to the canopy, where do you have you CG???
Thanks,
Robert

Robert,
Quite honestly I've not measured it. I'll do that for you. My tank is mounted in the canopy. My battery and receiver is mounted about 3" from the tube. I'm running a MK bellcrank with the stock servo positions. I suspect the 2 servos in your stab could be the problem. I'll measure the incidence as well.

Hi,
sorry for the delay geting back. I live in Oxfordshire.
Picked up a 140DZ for this bird. Bit concerned about rattling the poor thing to death.
I'm hoping a Hyde-type mount will help.
cheers

rgreen,
how do you like it so far? I just got mine and I am planning on putting the elevator servos in the stab and an OS 1.40 with a pipe in it. think that will be a good combo for it. thaks.

I am putting a DZ160 to the OTOP now.
then I am reading your comment gratefully.
BTW I know the meaning of opening the front of under cowl greatly.
But, you open a side so greatly, too.
What is this meaning?
Thanks.

It was a special scheme that I ordered and it took about 8 weeks to get it. Kobago, the pump for my YS 1.60 got in the way of the front of the chin cowl so i had to cut it away; I needed to cut some space in the cowl to allow movement of the engine so it did not damadge the cowl further.
The OS 1.40 should power this model very well.

Hi everyone.
My OTOP was finally completed today, too.
Let's introduce the idea point of me.
A fuel tank was moved to the up-down type.
Therefore, the installation of the main wings became easy.
The neck of a fuel tank was restricted with an O ring to the horizontal shaft.

It would appear that the OTOP is similar to that of the Impact, with the exception that the finish and construction are better and the fact that the OTOP is far cheaper. Based on that it would be fair to say that the basic assumption is that if it flys the same as the Impact then it's a great deal, but if it fly's better then it's the deal of the year. I don't really think it's a mystery it's just a better deal.

With the skin hinge ailerons, I wonder about how well the OTOP rolls axially. I know that this often an issue with the larger CompARF and similar skin hinged scale aerobats.
Does the OTOP roll very axially?
Did you have to dial in a large amount of differential aileron? If not, what do you do to get truly axial rolls?
And for those of you who have flown others as well, what flies better, OTOP, Temptation, Lazulite, Focus I, II, others?

No issues with rolling axially, it's just fine. I never took a real solid liking to mine for other reasons, mainly that it needs to fly a little quicker than I like in order to keep the workload and fuselage attitudes at what seems reasonable (to me anyway) when rolling slowly. It's just a personal preference I guess, but I never felt completely at home with it. One thing I really did like alot about it was that handling in snaps. Stopped on a dime, always seemed very predictable that way. I prefer either the Focus I, II or the Temptation to it.

Hi All,
Just a couple of shots of my 3D Otop in torque roll also have it with F3A wings and stabs, fly's quite nicely.
I'm using a OS 140RX on a Hatori Pipe with Futaba Servos and Duralite Batteries, two 9650 on Elevators and placed in the body for ease of changing between two different sets of tail planes ( F3A - 3D ). 4.6 Kgs and heaps of go.

Hi Tommy S,
This is the new body that Extreme Comp sent me after the first one broke. The first one was a very early one out of production and had the rear former mounted vertical, since then I believe they have mounted that former on the same angle as the vertical fin and the hortizal one through the stab area up to it. I have also put in a depron plate down the body from the former to past the pipe tunel floor, it is also at a different height to the stab former so there is a overlap of these hoztizal formers at the angled vertical former. Also I placed 15 grams of lead in the front of the counter balance of the rudder.
All of this I did so hopefully it won't do it again and seen all the Impact owners are doing these mod's I thought I should do them as well seen they are made of the same material. Now it is flying again I have given it a very hard time in high G 3D manoeuvre's and its still flying.

Dauphin,
That's exactly what I was wondering about. I put the plate down the length of the fuselage also
but the weight in the rudder counter-balance sounds like a good idea too. I'll try that also.
Thanks
tommy s
PS: Besides the cracking fuselage in the first one how do you like the airplane ?
