Dave you don`t need any more cooling holes in the cowling
use a 16-11 or 12 apc. for your prop and I think you will be happy
e-mail me if you need any info on this airplane

Has anybody used an OS 140RX with an ES or Aeroslave pipe on the Shinden or is only for a YS short pipe set up?
Thanks in advance for any info.

You can also request a full lenght pipe tunnel when you order it. Atleast that's what I was told last year from David Shulman. at BVM. I know David is no longer there, don't know if that changes anything? I was planning to run the OS-160 in one at the time.

Rodney,
You'll likely be better off with the 1.40, unless you're at a high altitude.
For a good fuse floor, if you don't have honeycomb, or don't want to put any in, I've had good luck with sealing some 3/32 contest balsa with Balsarite and then glassing both sides with very light fiberglass. The Shinden shouldn't be hard to stick a tunnel in.

Seeking input on the elevator setup - how is the pushrod system came with the kit? how difficult is it to convert to using two stab mount mini-servos? other recommendations?
Meanwhile, is the airframe light enough to make the weight if the plane is set up as electric?
TIA,
Kevin

The pictures that are shown or of the D.E.P.S. system from Central Hobbies. The Shinden
does not come with anything. As for electric, the first Shinden ARF was flown with electric.
In the beginning the kits were a little hard to make weight, but the new kits are much lighter.
It would not be hard to put two servos in the tail, but I would check with Bryan Hebert before starting.

Good Luck, you will love the Shinden !

I just wanna second what Jon put in the previous post. Every batch of the Shinden has had changes made to it (from what I understand), and the ones being produced now should easily make weight as electrics (there were stab and wing weight issues that were addressed after the first run). As far as the servos in the tail, you may want to check with Bryan before committing to that path. I'm fairly certain he has built a Shinden from each batch (maybe not the most recent that just hit the states), and he would be able to better advise you on what it would take to make that a viable choice. No matter what, he's always available to offer advice on setup and trimming... there's nothing like having the designer available to troubleshoot problems (if you even have any) with his airframe...

Thanks for the input guys, and I will ask Bryan for his input.
By the way, it is nice to know the plane is getting lighter by the batch, hopefully by the time new shipment arrives, it will be even lighter. Is there any hardwares that come with the kit?
