Today I finally was able to get out and test fly my new Passport. I ended up going with Narukes recomendation as far as the ail servos and that is the low profile digital 9154 wing servo. They fit the openings in the wing perfectly and seem to be more then enough power and speed. I set up a basic program with no p-mixs and went for it. It was very much like the prototype and didn't really need any trimming to speak of. I am going to fly in calm air in the morning, and then I will be able to really fine tune it. I will get pictures as well as more trimming info. up just as soon as I get a break from the wind.

Is there any weight information available on the standard kit and do you think it will make the weight going electric also? Meanwhile, what method was used to attach stab to fuselage?

Our planes both came out right at 4950 grams without doing anything other then just a normal assembly. All in all weight should be no issue for these planes even with some extras the design incorporates.

As for the Stab attachment, its really simple. Since the adjusters are mounted in the stab halves rather then the fuse, we use those to clamp onto the forward antirotation pin (Basically a set screw top and bottom) Then to remove the stabs pick either the top or bottom and loosen that set screw 1 turn. Its really better to secure at the leading edge of the stab versus the tube location anyway because you can keep a tighter fit up to the fuse.

I will get a picture up before the weekend is out to help visualize this a little better.

Here are some pic's on how we hold the stab on. Like Chip said the stab adjuster has a screw on top and bottom. Once the stab is set we tighten down the screws onto the front rod that goes through the fuse and your done.

Based on Chip's explanation, I had pretty good ideas how it might work, but the pictures sure makes it even easier to comprehend the attachment method and it looks like a very clever idea for sure.

Any flight report?

Chip has more time on his Pass-Port than I do so if he gets a chance I hope he will post the results, he has just left to go overseas
so not sure he will see this post. I only have 6 flights due to the weather here but I can say I am very happy so far. The mix on the plane is about 5% rudder to elev and it looks like that will be all the mixing I will do. The plane has a very constant speed both up and down, and has blown me away on how easy it does all rolling maneuvers. I will let you know as I get more time on it.

I was down in Tucson with chip a couple weeks ago and flew his passport. This plane is by far the best pattern plane I have ever flown. Rolls like Todd said are incredible. It feels so solid. This was also the first electric pattern plane I have flown and the electric has a much more consistant feel to it. The power is incredible and very smooth. Rolling loops are a breeze and require only 1/4 to 1/3 rudder with power out of the bottom.

I picked up my passport while I was down there and am assembling it now. I will keep everyone updated on it as well.

I got the ARF dlx I guess. It came with everything and is the same scheme as Chips. Ive got everything hinged, aileron servos in, working on the elevator and rudder servos now. Mine will be epowered as well.

You wont be dissapointed at all! This thing is incredible. Ill have mine flying by the end of the month hopefully sooner. Ill keep you updated with pics and flying reviews.

Well I was lucky that I called to get the last pass port that Net Box has just in time, "it should be arriving today". They are backordered now, but he should be getting a new shipment of them pretty soon.

I think .5 deg + will work much better . and about 0 on stab

It should be 0° on the stab and about 0.5 POSITIVE on the wing.

Sorry to revive this, but what is the recommendation on a 2m pattern airplane?
Do you recommend for hinges and to mount the motor?

In my opinion and experience, Radio South Pro Hinges are the gold standard for 2-meter flying surfaces. I typically use them on ailerons and elevators. They can also be used on rudder although I prefer to use Dubro standard hinges. By replacing the stock wire pin with the appropriate size piano wire which runs the full length of the rudder makes the rudder removal.

What goes where? How do i fix the wheel to the landing gear?

Do i have to over drill the plastic hub on the wheel so that the smooth cannulated tube that has inner threads acts as the axle?
Does the screw enter the inner side of the landing gear and into the cannulated axle?
