Hallo ,
for the moment I want my mould to be as simpified and as versatile as possible ,it´s easy task to cut down the fuse front and modify to fit a YS ,just like the canopy was cut in the proto ,but carrying all that with an electric set up is useless and adds weight .
Thanks Chris .
Ola Alejandro ,I think the last word of your sentence would be ...hapiness ?
Just finished the proto today ,tomorrow will post some pics ..
thanks

Finally ,the proto is finished ,I´m pretty satisfied with the result ,mould making will shortly begin..

Hi,

For the finishing did you fiberglass the fuselage, i earlier thought that you will be building all wood & foam.. but fiber glass fuselage sounds good

High...

Gorgeous Elias.

Looking at it sitting there, that's a really big airplane. How tall is the fuselage at the canopy and right in front of the fin?

Beautiful work, again.

Hi
The fuse would be glassed anyway ,I paint my fuselages because I just hate covering ,the thing is that I would have to spent double the time in order to have this finish at the low weight ,in any case it would be heavyer than a composite fuse.
Ryan ,323 and 237mm respectivly ,it´s just the room small..!
Thank you Alberto
working on the mould now ..

Nice project, Elias!
The shape of the fuselage makes me think of the "Bravo", the new F3A plane of "Wistmodel".
I am very curious to follow the rest of the design.

This plane is no copy of Spark. Not even close. The canopy is more forward, fin totally different. It has more height ahead of the fin. Just having a smooth chin for electric does not make it appear to be the same plane. Very clean sleek lines, much more elegant. BTW, you must visit an optometrist as your eye sight loosing proportion

Nice job Elias. Keep posting.

My most sincere compliments to the creator of the Neutrino for sharing the process and artistry of YOUR unique aerobatic design. You have and will continue to represent the the essence of modeling by your imagination and skills- Thank you!

The photos below show the Neutrino, Krill Spark, Brio, Scandalous, Focus and Partner...they are all completely different?

Subsequently added Bonetti Troublemaker, Miss Norway (now here is the basis of the Krill...same country just 30 years earlier!) and one of the first "Canopy Forward" designs...the Sig Kommander.

Hallo
I think there is no need of a further comment ,I share the same ideas as Rusty and nedim ,thank you guys .
Now to continue the construction of the Spa.. oops sorry ,Neutrino , here are some pics of the setup of the mould ,foam ribs are used as support ,easy to cut and trim till the fuse sits right in the middle. The whole support structure is double side taped in a straight board so the mould is movable .Moulding will take place at the garage ..!

The fuse is then sealed around it´s perimeter with modeling clay ,this part is critical as will determine how well the two mould halfs will close
M5 Inserts and 6mm steel dowels every 50mm will ensure that the mould will fit every time in the correct position.

Yes Bryan ,it´s buried inside ,the plug is fully flyable construction ,I can dig up all the goodies by just cutting with a blade through a thin coat of glass and ..a thick one of primer and paint.

cheers

Elias, you don´t have any marks in the fuse for the wing or stab tubes, incidence meters, antirotation pins. When do you plan to do it ?

Excelent thread and craftmanship. You are a very capable builder. Really a PRO.

Hi joenella,
These are standard methods well proven, thus used.
The canopy cutting at the motor is also common for 'E' models, with PL being the first that I saw do it.
Your comments are rude and insulting, the work is visibly original.

I think all modern pattern ships share some same design parameters but this
is definitely different than the Spark. Without measuring the airplane in person,
to me the rear turtle deck in front of the fin is noticeably taller than the Spark,
probably a lot of other things will end up being different also. Sometimes at a
pattern contest if an airplane didn't have it's name on it's side you couldn't tell
what it is.
By the way......beautiful work !

Here we're seeing how a plane is designed and built by just one person in a superb way; again, Elias you're making a great job.

As Engineer in mechanical and aeronautics, I feel I have the duty of saying that normally same problems (or requirements) leads us to similar solutions. That's why many times some planes are so similar between them-and I'm not refering to RC only. F3A flying supposes many constraits (or problems or requirements or whatever you want to call them) so it's not a surprise that planes are always so simmilar between them.

Elias; have evaluated the possibility of working with 3D CNC for creating the molds without making any wood model at all? I make that with CATIA and if it's true that the stuff tends to be expensive the time goes at 20%... I make weighs and balancing too so the planes are designed, built and "flown" (and many times we restart the loop for making modifications) many days before we open any resin can at all.

Cheers

Guille

tuny & guille2006, Please note, I was coming to Elias Sopeoglou's defense when I found joenella trying to do his number one more time at our expense! Most of us out here realize how important both of your threads can be to our future building efforts. Regards____TNWalker
