Roland is pretty senior in a Liechtenstein bank. He has been pretty busy over the last few years - especially at the moment.

Mark Leseberg....What happened to him? i thought for sure he was part of Team USA

Mark was 4th this year (2009) in the NATS. But Jason and QQ did not fly at the NATS either. But I would not count him out with another year of hard practice to re-hone his pattern skills.

Ouch.. tough draw for Jason. I'd hate to follow CPLR.

Good luck to all the competitors, and extra special good luck to Team USA!!!

Mark just got back to flying pattern this year (2009) and did not compete in the 2008 NATS where the US F3A Team was selected. His next chance will be next year in 2010 when teh 2011 US F3A Team will be selected.

Mark is top notch...ive seen him hang with the best and come out on top......He must have needed some time off....If he makes a come back, and has that hunger/desire/ganas, he will pick up where he left off

True that, and something very few of us will ever have to lay awake at night worried about!!

For instance, Mark was the 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Champion at the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout. So I am not sure he needs to make a come back, if you get my drift!!
He has now turned his attention to flying F3A, which I would think would be keeping some people awake at night wishing he would stick with those nice big scale aerobatics planes!!!

I guess you have not been tracking him very much. While he has been away from pattern for a few years he has not been loafing away his time.

Andrew out of finals ?????????!!!!!!!!! It´s hard to belive. I would bet my head that he will finish in the top 5. The 13th place of Bret is very good consider this is his 1st WC and his age.
It seems that the battle for the WC will be between QQ, CPLR and Onda. Hope Jason "kick the table" and win.

As I understand it. The prelininary score is divided by 3 but is ony included if it is higher than the normalized score in one of the flown semifinlal rounds in which case it replaces that lower score. It seems to me that this has already been factored in the semifinal standings. Chad, Derek, correct me if I'm wrong
