Hi, just got mine a few days ago.

Impressive looking model, think it got a little fatter when they changed from stickers to paint, seems a little liberally applied but a good finish, will have to be careful on equipment selection used when going electric but shouldnt be that difficult to make weight, glow version be no problem.

Instructions are informative but lack a couple of important bits of information,

1 CG position
2 incidence of tail

Does anyone know?

Papaone , would it be possible for you to find out what throws Christope uses?

Thanks.

1. CG is 165mm from the Leading Edge
2. The incidence of the tail is 0,5° negative putting at 0° the wing

Hello
Wolfgang Lorenz did first flights with his Oxalys equiped with electric motor. Weight 4910 g.
Very stable in wind conditions.
Very Important about CG.
CG is 220 mm from leading edge not 165 mm.

darkvader 07-18-2006 05:13 AM

RE: Oxalys Evolution full composite

4910 gr without T canalizer and without heavy original canopy.
What is the e-motor and batteries setup he is using? Weight of motor, ESC and Batteries?

RE: Oxalys Evolution full composite

Hello TMARK65 and others.
I have note yet started to build. I have ordered all necessary parts from Central and Singapore.
All partitions, Servo tray and Firewall will be of Honeycomb.
Tomorrow I should get the 2 YS160DZ I ordered as well as the Hatori tune pipe and header.
Next I will make a CB canopy and will use the original and a template for it.

Once I have all parts and accessories I will start work on it and then I expect in 4 weeks it will be ready for test flight.

Regards
Amram

I am interseted for a canopy like yours, can you built for me two ?

I hope the next days to start working .....

Regards to all of you

No news about this model? It is in flight now? Any comment about building/assembly? I am very interested about.

Alfonso.

RE: Oxalys Evolution full composite

Hello Alfonso,
I have not yet started the assembly. I have purchased all the parts and tools needed first.
today I supose to get the hinges suggested to me by CPLR. Next week assembly will start.
My plane is to test flight it in Jan 2007. If I happen to be on Israel team to WC2007 it will be my # 1
and if all OK with it after test flight I will get another piece as # 2.
Once I start work I will update all periodicaly.
Thanks
Amram

Dear Amram:
Which hinges suggested CPLR? It is my first experience with full composite wings and stabs.

Best Regards. Alfonso.

RE: Oxalys Evolution full composite

Last week i got my Oxalys Evolution. The plane is in excellent conditions....

The weights are:

complete fuselage + rudder + plate for engine + 2 plates for install wing: 1107 g
stab left: 111 g
stab right: 111 g
wing: 953 g
canopy: 165 g - i prepare a carbon canopy with around 40 g
landing gear: 103 g
covers for landing gear: 34 g
servo-tray: 58 g
tube for stab: 30 g
accessories: 90 g

can anyone give me some useful hints for building that plane

i would like to install the servos for stab into the stab - hope this is no problem for CG

where is the CG - 220 mm from leading edge - is this ok?

thanks for answers

Christopher

HI TMARK,

You have many Euros sitting on your workbench! whew, Have you considered what type of adhesive you will be using? (firwall, bulkeads) Try the Aeropoxy from BVM, really strong.
