Default Engine trouble

I have an epic .18 and i started it once before. I'm right now breaking it in and it's new. I followed all the manufatures directions and i followed them. When i try to start it up, 2 seconds after i take off the glow plug starter it stalls. The engine isn't all that hot and it works fine w/ the glow plug starter on. and also i'm using epics stock glow plug. What am i doing wrong?

Edit: Epic never told me what to do with the idle set screw nd i played around w/ it a bit but i think i put it back in the right place.

You will experience what you just described during the break in process. Try to tigthen the idle screw to bring up the idle speed a little. Change your plugs too as the break in setting is (should be) very rich and you'll end up fouling the plug. Not familiar with the epic so no suggestions for LNS and HNS adjustments.

You might have to charge ur glow plug alot this way, but when you start it, leave the ignightor on for a while. when i first got my tmaxx i duct taped the rotostart(old version) to the rear bumper and had it plugged in so i could drive around with somehting keeping the glow plug warm. Leave it in and let it run around a bit

Like stated many places, run it for 2-3 minutes and get it t up to temp, then shut it down

The glow plug ain't bad yet and it still lights up fine when i put it on the starter. So i just gotta leave it on for a few mins then pull it off. All right ill try that once i get my glow plug charged.

Now im really fed up. I can't even start my engine now. I have started the engine once by my self but now i cant do any thing any more. I know someone who can start it up and i've seen him do it before but it also stalls for him. I cant get it even to turn over. When i watched him do it i saw him play with the high end neddle and the idle set screw and he managed to start it up (but it stalled). does it have to do anything with the fact that i shattered and removed my head shim on my engine like a little washer that fits on top of the sleeve? (I'll get another one soon). Well i've tried every thing on my engine lean it out play w/ the idle and set it back to factory settings too. Please help!

you have mostlikely flooded the engine, remove the glow plug and put the car on the starter box like you do to start it. this will clean out the exess fuel. if you havent yet touched the needles, you can get away with leaning it no more than a quarter turn. once you get the engine started, let it run till it gets hot , then shut it off. repeat this step 3 or 4 times, regardless of how many 'tanks' of fuel you burn. the idea is to bring the piston and sleeve up close to the temp they will be running at. then follow the manufacturers instructions for leaning it out. this is the process i've used for years and it has worked very well for ME. others may disagree, or have there own break-in opinions, but theres mine.

I mentioned glow plug and I think is still one of your issues. Even though a glow plug glows with the igniter, taking off the igniter and engine stalling indicates a glow plug issue. Another issue is the LNS is too lean. Another issue is head shim, depending on the nitro % of your fuel. You need to have at least one shim.

Add the shim and change your plug.

WELL THE GUY WHEN HE LEANED IT HE LEANED IT OUT a couple turns (sorry for the caps it was on and i didn't relize and im too lazy to fix it). I'm pretty sure my engine isn't flooded and also when the guy started it i noticed he had me open up the throtle and when it started he said to cut it and let it idle but keep it revving. And also are you sure a glow plug change will make a difference the total run time of my engine couldent be more than three minutes going on and off.

close your hsn completely, then open it back out to at least 3 and a half turns, and try to start it again then reply and let us know how it went
