I snatch a royal DC-3 on Ebay for $200 listed as is, appeared to be complete will find out soon. Also picked up what I believe to be a royal senior sized colt, but need a set of blue prints to verify this.
So who has a colt kit and would go to a print shop to scan their plans? I'll pay the $10 to $15 fee for a scan and email. [email protected]
Did pica or dave platt have a colt as well???

Super looking model, I love the 17R/A17F wheelpants. Do you intend to make the paint scheme to one of the actual fixed gear airplanes (I would).
As for covering, it being a scale model I'd cover it with dress lining rather than silk. Dope would be great, especially now that Sig is pouring all new material. I do use dress lining and dope on my CL Stunt models and the finishes are very light. I use two coats of unthinned clear, two coats of unthinned sanding sealer, and then sand it level. After covering, I do the same on the covering material. The reason for the unthinned material is that lots of thinned material soaks through the covering and adds weight. The unthinned material coats the coverings weave and thats all. be carefull not to sand through the dress lining, it cannot tolerate any brealing of the weave. It does however let keys bounce off of it and doesn't get brittle.
Super looking Staggerwing, hope you post more pictures.

my royal stagger wing will be finished soon just cut out upper wing ailerons and then realized the horizontal stab was tilted to the left a little....
just minor adjustments needed. plane weighs about 6 and a 1/2 pounds including the saito 80 engine but I haven't decided to covering in iron on film or silk and dope? paint does add a lot of weight....

I spoke with an old builder who has built a number Staggerwings either the Royal kit, his own design, or based on the Royal kit. He advised me he found the airfoil too thin to fit retracts or to have good flight characteristics. He recommended increasing the wing thickness 11 to 14 %.

Ah yes, a 60's paint scheme on a C-17B. Cool. How far along are you? Love the Staggerwing, my dad had one when I was in school, he soloed me in it on my 16th birthday! Here's one I built for him, and a postcard of our old Beech.

I have for trade a mint NIB FunAero SE-5a ( revised/updated version). 60" wingspan, .60 2 stoke, 80 4 stroke.
Kits must be complete in box, new condition. Willing to throw in a little cash if necessary. Will post pics of SE-5a when I get a chance.

Good evening, Gentlemen.
I started cutting balsa for a Bf 109 Emile 4 (for .46 glow), Royal Marutaka plans, already have the original canopy, engine, retracts, etc...I'm planning to start construction in Jan/2015.
But I lost the building manual, maybe someone 'borrowed' it and 'forgot' to let me know...well...
Does anyone here have thie Bf 109 Emile to share or sell to me?
Any help on this matter will be very welcome.
Thanks a lot!
