Don't know too much about boats but here are my impressions:
- too heavy - sinks too much in the water
- top heavy - unstable in turns
- too fast for a scale model - never seen a real one go so fast reported to scale.

i have been on one several times , with a cruising speed of 55 mph i would say Kmot has hit it rite on the button !
very scale , , it is not to heavt either comparing it to the real boat and it sits very low in the water
also the unstable turns are a slight problem but i think it is a eazy fix !( counter rotating props )
over all , you have one nice boat there , i cant wait to have mine done !
and also i notice when you turn right the bow drops down and sucks ! , i am having the exact same problem with mine , i think i just have to get the props counter rotating to correct it , i hate it , cuz it starts sucking air and drops and then plows !

Damn Tom... What's next? How about from the helm of the Donzi itself, better yet up in the tuna tower and panning around!
Your vids always worth waiting for on my lousy dial-up connection!!!

Hey guys all these great videos have made me resume work on my Donzi, but I've hit a snag. I noticed that my f/b deck doubler seems too small. the directions say that the doubler s/b 1/16 ply x 1-3/4 x 10 (step 23). But this seems to be too small and the wrong shape for that part of the underside of the f/b. Anybody have any suggestions?

g-d, I love the donzi, I just had to give you guys props (no pun intended). I keep checking this thread for more pic and such. I think this has to be my next project, once my chris craft is finished. very nice work guys!
p.s. have any of you thought about using a second radio for adjustable trim tabs. It might help the stability problems I've seen and maybe slowing your servo rate on the rudders. from watching the videos these can be remedied. I've just observed so many actual donzis, hatterases. betrams, and oceans in action. They make smooth slow and level turns, were talking 10-15 tons, 2000 hp engines and 40-60 ft in length. They dont run like a sport boat, I'd go for a very powerful look when going at full speed, high bow, maximum throttle but planing. ok Im done, just some thoughts. I figure if you're going to go scale might as well go all the way.. heck throw some actual lines off the boat and go trolling, that would be some great sh-t on video

I've never seen one in person, and the pictures don't show the whole transom, do the full scale's have trim tabs, etc.?
Any full scale shots of the transom/hull in dry dock? I haven't been able to find any...

Dave,
The hull is fiberglass. Everything else is plywood, dowel rods and brass tubing. The deck and superstructure are all built up plywood and need to be glassed. It is not a kit to build over a weekend.
You will not be happy with the dumas motors. You will be happier with glow or at least Astroflight .25 electric. Also, get 2 speed controls so you can dock it and run it in a scale manner. Buy the Dumas railings too, unless you can solder brass rod. The tuna tower and outriggers are dowel rods. You may want to make these from soldered brass rod. Nice scale looks though.
