Limp track

I always read up on this forum to see awesome tank builds and whenever I have questions about tanks, but this time I can't find a posted solution.
Does anybody know why my right track/motor is doing all the work during neutral steering? Left track does nothing. It can't steer while moving forward and backward.
No problem moving straight though.
What I have is a Torro Taigen Kv-2 with IBU2 Pro and Turnigy 9xr tanker9x.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you ausf.
I tried playing around again with the trims, and it's still the same.
When I put the tank onto something (tracks not touching the ground) The tracks move in the same speed. No steering differences between left and right turns.
Could this be a mechanical issue?

I'm not familar with the IBU, but assume you can unplug the motors. If so, try swaping the plugs so the right is on the left and visa versa. That way you can eliminate whether it's motor/gearbox. If the slow side changes, it's electronic, remains the same, it's mechanical.

I did the swap you suggested, that confirmed it's a mechanical problem.
If I try to manually turn the tracks by hand, the slow side is a little stiff.
The difference in stiffness is so little it's amazing it could affect the steering of the tank.
My all plastic, all stock, M41 drives 100000000000000x better.
Looks like I'm just gonna have to stop before steering for now.
Thank you ausf for your assistance.

You could delve deeper into the source, whether it's something in the gearbox or motor. I'd look over the slow side, check the lubrication, look for obvious sources of binding, check that the frame is square and that there's no rubbing anywhere, especially near the final drive shaft.
Couldn't hurt to take the tracks off to compare tension as you spin the sprockets and look for evidence of track rubbing on the hull on the offending side.
There's no reason to put up with bad steering.

I tried the Ibu2 to my M41 and it works fine, the controls are very responsive. And my M41 has a very screwed up super stiff gearbox. Is it possible the Kv-2 with metal chasis is too heavy for the IBU2?

Sometimes power rotation 100% doesn't work, try dropping it to 99-98%. No I have an ibu in my metal KV-2 and runs like a dream.

Is the steering problem while moving included in the firmware issue with the ibu you mention earlier?
Are still using the stock nicd/nihm battery?
Thank you tomhugill
