Johnmar78,
Earn double the income than elsewhere? In our dreams mate. We aren't called rip off Britain for nothing (gas now $9.50 a UK gallon!). The only advantage we have with tankzone is that postage is "free" within the UK. If I was cynical I would say it had just been absorbed into the overal price beforehand.

Surely not! [X(]

With Tankzone prices not only has postage already been absorbed into the overall price but probalbly the company director's next holiday in Thailand and new BMW.....

We will contact your friend Thomas about his missing order. Please let us
have his email address. Forward him this email if that would help. The item
he ordered is currently out of stock but he should have been informed. His
email may have been filtered out because we have not heard from him
regarding this matter. The filter takes out most spam emails but also take
out some valid ones too.

The part you need is in stock. Our PayPal account is [email protected].

Kind regards
Kin

SO I finally got an email from kin at TANKZONE.... HE SAYS HE IS GOING TO HOPEFULLY HAVE MY PART BACK IN STOCK In 1 week....
He said it was out of stock.......

Well... I don't mind waiting a little longer .... But man.... A lot of waiting would be easier if they would just communicate this from early on.......

If anyone else needs to get a hold of "KIN" at TANKZONE here is his EMAIL address:

I've been waiting since November 2007 for the Sherman VVSS simulation kit. I did receive a reply to my e-mail on 14th January saying they had difficulty with the order but since then nothing. I've e-mailed them to ask for a different items adding up to the same price but no reply. I'm fed up with waiting so I'm asking for my money back. This will be the first and last time I use Tankzone.
Just an update on my original post. I received an e-mail from Kin :-

Hello Chris

I am sorry but both items you ordered are out of stock at present. I will
ask Accounts to make a refund.

Kind regards
Kin

... and my money has been returned.

If the stuff was out of stock then it should say so on their website.
What does it take to keep customers informed or at least a prompt reply to e-mail enquiries? There's nothing more irritating than facing a wall of blank silence.

I won't be using Tankzone again.

In all fairness, it seems as though Tank zone is acting on the issues presented here. Be very aware that email can get identified as spam and sent to the trash. I believe the excuse presented is valid. However I do believe retailers have an obligation to communicate order status to customers, if an order can not be filled right away, let a person know.

It is a very empty feeling to send money electronically to someone and then never get a reply. So any retailers out there remember this. Communication is key to keeping your internet customers happy.

Sometimes it is better to pay more (e.g., overseas shipping etc) but be ensured you get your goods and promptly. Having heard this, I will not order or ever take chances with these companies mentioned here). It is not my intention to advertise (and no I don;t work for them) but I have ordered many things now (several hundred dollars) from Axels ModellBau Shop and have always got my order promptly, well packaged and fast. I always go with reputation especially on this RC stuff which is expensive compared to static scale armour modelling. - cheers.

Hi Gents,
I've read your posts regarding TankZone Uk and I suppose it's time to throw my 5 cents into the hat.
My friends and family who are interested with WWII armour and tanks deal with TankZone Uk regularly. I as them, find TankZone Uk an efficient organisation in respect of their delivery of product and customer service. On that basis I may add, I have no affiliation with the company. However, I've always found TankZone Uk to be willing with responses to e-mails and equally willing to ship product on time.
So on that basis they get a 10/10 score.

All the best,

Nick Roberts.

You probably don't want to hear this, but...I placed an order three months ago, and got my stuff in about 6 weeks. They included an apology stating that they were out of stock, otherwise, it would have been quicker. All in all, I was pleased and would do business with them again.

FYI, it generally takes 2-3 weeks to get stuff from Axels in Germany.

Kin refunded my payment after i emailed and then posted here online...

He apologized stating they were out of stock of my part...
only complaint was I wish communication would have been much prompter!

-Thanks,

Tomas

Tankzone's prices are ridiculous, their website it poorly designed (many broken links, clicking on an image often just shows a larger image rather than more information) and much of that listed is permanently out of stock.

I won't be using them.

Well I don't know if there is much of a difference, but I've ordered about 6 times from Tankzone's ebay store and have had my items arrive quickly and have had no problems so far.
I've found the prices on their ebay store have been the same and sometimes lower then other sellers with better reputations like pugwash and blueslatesman whom I've also ordered from.

Additionally I've had slightly negative experiences with some vendors who seem to have "can do no wrong" reputations.
I guess it's all up to your own personel experience. As far as I'm concerned they've worked out better than others.

Maybe they're more concerned with maintaining their ebay feedback reputation, which is another trend I've noticed with some vendors.

Hi people my experence with Tankzone has been in the main positive. Expensive but positive. Back last year I ordered track hangers for a jagtiger after a week NO parts. Rang them and asked what was happening ?. The reply was if the parts did not show in a few days they would send a replacement package. Two days later and after another call the replacement parts were posted and arrived next day. Also if you root round on the site you can pick up a few parts cheaper than evilbay prices BUT most are well over the going rate. I checked the site 2 weeks ago and found out that the whole crew were away and would not be back untill 3/9/08 sorry for any inconvenince !!!. That may explain the delays and comms problems ?. Well that's my 2 pence worth so I will leave you to form your own opinions on Tankzone. All the best for now
Alan

I totally agree with Panzerfaust77 on this one. The wholesale price of a basic S & S HL Tiger 1 is less than £30!!! How can they justify there prices?

I'm guessing the price is a lot less than thirty quid as there is no sale or return and no kind of warranty to the retailer. That's why so many broken tanks find their way on to ePray. I suspect the price to the retailer is around £20 or less. No retailer would buy them for any more considering the terms of business that seem to be in place, it wouldn't be worth the effort to stock them.

Good ol' Tankzone / UK suppliers was recently a topic over [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=908029]here[/link] on RCGroups. I dunno how people can justify the prices asked, the service (and often lack thereof) isnt worth THAT much...

And yet people will still buy from them. The most annoying thing is that they do appear* to list a lot of items that are not readily available elsewhere in the UK, like ostketten, the King Tiger and the little 144 Takara tanks.

*most of their items are permenantly out of stock however and there's few things worse than buying something online only to be told it's out of stock and then struggling for a refund, all because they seller was too lazy to keep their website updated.
