Nitro will break down RTV eventually....but for the most part its fine to use IMO........the best stuff to use is either threebond 1211 or Racer's Edge Carb Sealant...

OK for all the guys who Doubt me.....RTV melts under Nitro....Plain and simple...It might Mask the air leak temporarily...but imo its gonna leak again....take a blob of RTV....put it on a biznes card....now Soak that under Nitro....2 days later....feel the RTV...it will go MUSH in ur fingers.......Three Bond 1211 is what Pro Modder's use to Fill and ramp the crank when they Bore it out....if its gonna hold in a 350+degree motor spinning at 40K...its gonna seal a Carb Just fine...here's a pic of some of the things i seal with it....the coupler is overkill i kno....but to all u racer's out there....U KNOW what its like to have a leaky header seal...and i can darn well guarentee u mine is NEVER gonna bust a seal ever again.

the other solution we found to 1211 the other day was Racer's Edge Carb sealant...I wanted to try it 1 day from amain...and the second i opened the tube..i got a farmiliar smell........1211 Baby....and its RED to boooot.....Now i kno what they use on the JLR RED dot motor's on the crank...chk Amain under sealants and at 5$ a tube....its 5X cheeper then 1211.....but i have Yett to test this stuff out yett....but i put some on a card and let it dry and it came out EXACTLY as 1211 does...so imo its the exact same stufff.

I never doubted you i just wanted to know why. Hey integra does the pressure line have to be long? what if its short? Does it make a difference if its long or short?

BIG time....it can play games with tune and pending how much fuel's in the tank. ...as a general rule of thumb....keep both fuel tubes the same length...If possible..and at LEAST 6" long...anything shorter will definatly give u mixed results....a fuel line tooo close to the header/pipe can also affect tuning...IE hot fuel= Motor not happy.

Yes, you should seal the engine/carb-"Racer's Choice Air Seal".And what the H*** did that guy do to to his Jammin pipe/header connector;not how to do things!

Thats the craziest thing Ive ever seen anyone do to a rc. Nothing but a waste of time and money. If your having leak issues, fix it the correct way, not the Im to cheap for new carb gaskets or exhaust gaskets. Then to bust a hole in the tank for the pressure line, thats just insane.
I do have to ask, why did you do that to the tank? [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Dude you guys he just sealed the fitting to help prevent air leaks. Just like my ford ranger, it leaks in the back window when it rains hard. I have looked and not seen any visible leaks but it does leak. I used silicon to seal it and sure enough it worked. All he is doing is pinpointing possible areas that could cause a air leak and sealing it up.

Dude.... the 8ight-t fuel tank is like that, he doesn't "bust a hole in the tank".

That seal job looks a little over the top, never seen so much sealant being used on a rc car, lol. Ive never had troubles with air leaks, the gaskets hold their own.

Like i already stated......that JP-3 job was the first 1...and ya its overkill...but *** do u care...I can damn well guarentee that its NEVER EVER EVER gonna bust the seal and Puke fuel all over the dirt guard causing a little funny backpressure off the pipe causing some tuning issues...All cuz u think its overkill........ya right....u say seals hold there own...I CANT COUNT how many trucks i see in pit row with little wet spots under the pipe gasket.....Mugen Was the ONLY 1 imo to get the solution right with the Snap loc....but its gonna take some time for other's to get on the band wagon......but w/e...time will tell....and check out my Photobucket and see the 086 i did...Definatly not overkill..and its Never EVER gonna leak...so in relality...i dont have that on my concience when a tune goes arye cuz of altitude or Extreme temperature change....I like my stuff to work All the time....Not like 1/2 the racer's who have Flame outs and tuning issues/shut down's....its sad to see a guy putting a KNOWN LEAKY glo plug into the WRONG MOTOR and have it RUIN his race weekend.....and a leaky motor is Never a fun thing to deal with.

Nope, none at all, thats the wildest redneck sealing job Ive ever seen. What do you do when the carb seals need rebuilt? Thats more trouble and hassle than its worth. If you build it right it wont leak and if it does buy the right parts to fix it, not a tube of putty and slop it on.
Must be a basher, a true racer watches the weight of a truggy.

I'm kinda with integra on this,

Half of racing is state of mind, If sealing and doing a rain dancing makes you feel better on race day then do it,

And I hate when my seal goes between my header and pipe and I get that almost impossble to clean specks on the pipe,
But that is a sign of there being to much angled pressure on the header and you need to adjust your mounts,

But the bottom line is if your not confident with your ride then you won't race to your full potential,

Seal away

Wonder if Adam Drakes truggy looks like that? Maybe Ryan Lutz or Chad Bradley? The whole point is, if you have a fuel line leak, buy new fuel line. If the carb has a leak, buy new O rings and rebuild it. If the exhaust seal has a leak, buy a new seal, adjust the angle, new springs to hold exhaust tighter.
See, the thing is a newbe reads this and goes crazy with sealing everything, and what does he learn? NOTHING. He just learned how to blob putty over everything and not how to FIX the issue.
SO FOR ALL YOU FIRST TIMERS, REMEMBER THAT "INTEGRA" FROM RC UNIVERSE SAID THATS HOW YOU FIX A LEAK, "PUTTY IT UP..."
