Does it idle real high after a high speed run then eventually idle down?
That could be a lean high speed,

How much space is there between the slide and the inside of the carb? should be about the width of a credit card or so.

If thats set right, its gotta be your tune,

You could have used the low speed needle at one point to compensate for an incorrect idle? or vice versa.

Id check the gap,

Then reset my needles and tune the high speed then the low speed.

Yea the gap looks good. Check the low speed needle to and it didnt change anything. Wouldnt an air leak make it idle high ?

Yes, give the low end a few hours, it will bring the idel down. Dont run it to lean on the low end, bad things happen to a nitro engine when the low ends to lean.

Why dont you try to idle your motor, then try to push the carb closed with your finger. If it idles down when you manually push it in, then I'd say linkage, EPA's. Peace.

The only other thing it can be is an air leak then, could be the back plate etc.

Make sure all your needles are set to factory settings including your idle needle. also apply carb sealant to carb rim as well as backplate area. based on what you said " I pushed the throttle link all the way in" makes me believe your idle pin is not extended far enough in your venturi area to stop it from completely closing thus you are shutting out all air entry into your engine.

Hey I just looked at what you were saying " still idles HIGH"... this is a correction to my earlier response. You may want to first apply carb sealant to eliminate any possible air leaks both on the carb as well as the back plate. However, it almost sounds like your engine may be dirty on inside. I know you said this was a new engine. It may have shavings inside that you need to clean. Since it is new I doubt that you have a piston/sleeve compression issue. Just make sure when you finish running your RC you always turn your flywheel to get your Piston at BDC(bottom dead center) so that you do not stretch your sleeve and loose your compression. Really sounds like an air leak though but I would probably break the engine down and clean it with denatured alcohol and relubricate the internals to be on the safe side.
