If you alter the servo speed on the involved servos you can have it act like a sequencer. you cannot set delays but by slowing one of the servo down it can often serve the purpose. reverse the speeds on the opposing movement. In many situations this can do the trick.

Wheels need about 12 seconds to retract. If the doors start closing at the same time they need to move really slow. I still don't see how the door will move faster in the other direction. Just currious.

I gave it much thought about using servos to open and close the doors, but considering the Corsair doors remain open when the gear is down, unlike the P-51 doors which close when they are down and the hydraulics have pressure, I decided to use levers on the doors that the wheel presses against to make the doors close. This might work on the 60CC too, mine is the .60 Top Flight.

12 seconds for the gear is much to long for using the mix method, if that's what you have with the electric gear, I'm going with air and Jetronic valves.....

How is the vertical performance with the Saito FG57?

Sno,

I set it up on the Flight Mode switch since that is right above the gear switch on the 12X. Been flying that transmitter too long to go hunting too far for the gear switch. The three way switch lets me make the gear down, doors down in mode 0, gear up in mode 1, and doors and gear up in mode 2. On the reverse, allows doors to open in mode 1, and gear to extend in mode 0. No worries about screwing up the sequence. The next closest 3 position switch was either the flap switch or elevator dual rate switch. I needed both of those, so for me, at least, the Flight Mode switch was the logical choice. I also couldn't figure out how to make it so the gear switch in a mix mode could delay the door movement long enough for the gear to retract. Every time I played with that method, the doors closed when the gear started to retract....that posed a slight problem...LOL....

acdii,

I still haven't played with the programming much...didn't need it with the air operated retracts...the sequencer worked fine with regular servos. I tried using the gear switch and slaving the door channel to that switch, but on the 12X there is no way (that I can tell) to program in timing on a mix. So, that was a problem, the doors closed as the retracts started...not good with slow moving electric retracts. If you've figured out the secrets of the 12, I'd love to know what you've learned... :-)

I guess the 12 does not allow for servo slow in both directions ? Specktrum qq 18 does. Anyway the Electric gear operates way too slow for the mix operation. ( which I use all the time on jets etc...)

The 12 does allow for slow speed in both directions, just not a delay for when the servo starts like the DX18 does. Go figure...the 12X is about twice the price and doesn't do half the stuff...LOL...guess it's a good thing I've had the 12 long before the 18 came out, otherwise I do believe I'd have to color myself stupid...LOL... Anyway, when I tried slowing the gear doors down, I would have to make them so slow on closing to accomodate the gear speed it wouldn't look right. With the flight mode switch, I have it figured out now, and I can use the gear switch for the bomb drop....This is the first time that every port in the receiver will be filled on one of my models...

Hi

Has anybody considered doing a electric conversion on this aircraft with a nice sound system to reproduce that lovely radial sound ?

If so I would love to hear from you.

Kind Regards

James

Does anyone have some detailed pictures of the setup for the tail gear doors? I tried to manage it but like I was trying it it does not work at all. I saw the pics on page #14 from D PAYNE but can not see any details how he installed the hinges. I hope someone can help me!

Here is how I did it. I assumed the hinges were the problem, since it took me a while to figure out how to make them work. Let me know if you need more info.

Hi every one, I am nearly finished my 60cc corsair but have a problem that I can not figure out.
I have the robart electric retracts in the gear channel and the payload release in AUX2 channel. The eflight releases work fine when I toggle the AUX2 switch but when I cycle the gear the payload releases cycle over and over again until the gear stops.
I plugged the payload releases in other channels (rudder, flaps) and I does the same thing but only on the payload releases. Doesn't affect servos.
I have checked the wiring used a different receiver, rang a few hobby shops with no luck. After all the mucking around I can only put it down to the robart control unit.
If any one has had the same problem or any suggestions could you let me know.
I am running a spectrum receiver, 7.4 lipo receiver packs and high voltage hitec servos.
Thanks.

Have you used a voltage rgulator for the payload release? As I know they are not rated for HV.

thanks for the reply, I didn't use a regulator as the booklet that came with them had a voltage range of max 8.5V. Makes sense as one of the payload releases stopped working after a while. Might of fried it.
I have ordered another two. Would it pay to regulate the voltage from the receiver to the two releases and what would be the best voltage to regulate to?
Thanks.

I checked now and you are right. They are rated at 8.5V max. When I get home I will check if they work ok near robart retracts, but since I already have 2 voltage regulators in the plane I will use them.

Do you use just one imput on the regulator for the payload release?

would a spectrum signal booster fix this problem?

I just tested the payload release and they work just fine. No interference with Robart retracts.
