Yes, in that combo. Tested also in another chanel on HV. Same result. Maybe the receiver is the issue? I'm using AR12110.

I might try the spectrum regulator

Awesome Video. I love the sound of a radial engine. Maybe someday I can afford one.

Hello been watching this forum for a while and am in the process of building one for someone. And to clear things up on the FG-84-R3D question. It DOES FIT! BUT there is no room to grind the rocker covers for clearance. So I centered the mount and reduced the amount of rt. thrust. And the stock exhaust will work but not pretty so waiting on collector ring and hopefully it will clear the motor box. Also the stock tank doesn't fit either due to the carb sitting inside the fuse.

Great Feedback!
Thank you!

I picked up a Saito FG57-T for mine so I'm hoping it will have enough power!

I've read in other forums where it seems the sequencer doesn't recognize the electric retracts. Experiment time...plug in two normal servos (as if for air operated retracts and for the doors), hit the switch, and guess what....all works fine. Gear retracts, then door servo operates. In reverse, door servo operates, then gear comes down. Has anyone figured out how to overcome this challenge? I'm using a JR12X, and although it has a door sequencing option, all that does is make the gear door servo operate really slow on the close. I actually want a delay, then doors close. Has anyone had any success with any of the gear door sequencers working with the Robart electric retracts? I know I have the option of putting the doors on a separate channel, but I don't necessarily want to have to remember to flip two switches during the retract sequence.

Also, anyone know when the wheels are coming off of backorder? It's a bit hard setting up the gear/doors without knowing how much room the wheels/tires will take up in the wheel well....

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
Hi as the manufacturer of the electric components for Robart manufacturing, anyone having an issue with door sequencing can purchase direct from us at Down and Locked our gear controller with integrated door sequencer. Check our website www.downandlocked.com or call 828-817-0412. You will be able to set the door function you desire and also be able to set end points of the individual servos from the sequencer also. With the DandL integrated sequencer you will not have to set delays as the sequencer senses gear position and operates at the correct time. Thanks Mitch

Thanks Mitch!
Are you saying:
1.) Down & Locked has a gear sequencer we can purchase to add to our/your Robart electric retracts? Or,
2.) Down & Locked has a replacement gear controller w/door sequencer that takes the place of the Robart controller unit?

I looked over the Down & Locked web site and I can't figure it out.

Mitch,

What's the gear controller with integrated sequencer run? Sounds like it will replace the original Robart controller and allow sequencing of the doors...pretty nice.

Thanks for your time!

Does anyone know if a G62 + Pitts style muffler can be used without cutting the cowl?

I have the G62 and the Slimline Pitts style muffler. The Pitts muffler will not fit without modifications. It looks like the Horizon prototypes used the stock mufflers.

Thanks Fly2xs. I think I'll go with the Saito 57 then.

Does anyone know if the pneumatic landing gear that Robart makes for the Top Flite Corsair are the same as the H9 Corsair? A friend has a NIB set of Top Flite gear he wants to sell me. The H9 gear uses a H9 Model number, so it's hard to tell.

It is NOT the same. Struts are a different length.

Robart gear uses a shaft that you put your own struts on. Their site has a configuration tool to look up the model of strut to use.

The Top Flite Corsair uses Robart Model #148 rotating retracts. (They are too short to be scale)
The H9 Corsair uses the Robart Model #150 B/Z rotating retracts. (The same as used in the Byron's/Iron Bay & Ziroli Corsairs.)

I found this on the web,FG84R3 fitted to the H9 60cc Corsair, all done with minor "mods" BUT using the firewall as is,therefore the two "cut-outs" are needed for one of the cylinders.( no execssive right rudder needed as the F/W is as std )

"Quote"..........5800 Static RPM using Biela 22 x12 x 3BL

Regards...............Nick (UK)

Pics of G84 install. Still has some right thrust, a round half of factory, and I adjusted the offset at firewall to compensate for the difference. So no hole cutting in the cowl was necessary.

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of my Corsair build. Any idea when the scale Robart wheels will be available? Looks like someone posted back in Nov? asking about availability? Still on back order :-(...

Also, what is the deal with the nav lights? I see pics of the Corsair w/ the lights reversed by todays standards? Did warbirds have the green on left/ red on right? As opposed to today's green on right/ red on left? (as viewed from the pilots seat) Thanks

Z

I'm not talking about what other modelers did, but about real plane pictures and documentation.

Hmmm..... When I first saw this question about what side the two red and green nav lights went on asked, I couldn't believe it had actually come up but I guess I was wrong. Maybe it's the A&P Mechanic in me? Or maybe its the Commercial Pilot's License? In any event how could you compare photos of somebody's model to actual aircraft?

While I generally encourage folks to use the search engine here on RCU before asking questions, in this case Google is your friend....
