good to hear everyone is having some fun out there.
I contacted Keleo a couple times now asking if they would make a custome exhaust for my G62 but they won't even answer my emails so I will not be doing any business with them in the future. ( thier loss )
I have the engine and cowl mounted and am in the process of running the lines and such. I was thinking of flipping the carb upsidedown so as to get a straighter line to the servo.
Would this affect the engine at all? It doesn't look as if it would matter which way it ismounted but I thought I'd check with you guys.
I went to our scale event yesterday and a fellow brought out his Folding wing Corsair with a Saito 3cyl450.I'm not sure which kit it was but wow what a nice plane. The engine had no problem hauling the plane around. I believe it was around 40lbs. I think I will go that route on the next one. It was a very easy and neat install with none of the hassles of running a bunch of different lines and such. Most of his parts are hand made including the flap hinges.
Nothing that would be very difficult to make your self and having seen it I think I will spending a little more time on the next build andjust make alot of my hardware rather than searching all over the globe for parts. It's those small parts that nickel and dime you to death.
I took a bunch of pictures and he was very helpfull should I decide to go that route on the next build. The plane performed fantastic. He dropped the flaps and the plane just floated in. Perfect landing.

Another way to keep the flutter away is to fly it at a scale speed. You are asking a lot from that airframe. But it did look good on the high speed pass.
I thought I was....lol!

That looks like a Composite ARF kit. The wing folding mechanism is pretty cool but you need to check to be certain they are down and locked before takeoff. I was flying my Corsair at Warbirds over the MidWest (Fond Du Lac, Wi) last August in the pattern with a pro from Denver who took off, flew a couple times around the pattern and then had the miserable experience of watching one wing fold as the Corsair spiralled into the corn.
The Corsair was totaled, the Moki 250 5 cylinder radial was completely destroyed. It was an expensive lesson.

No, it is not an ARF. It's the Ziroli Kit. Modified of course for the folding parts.I spoke to him today. He has a fool proof mechanizim for the wings and they lock solid every time.
There is a visual indicator and if that indicator does not go down then the plane does not fly.

If you would read their web site you would have your answer, you deserve to be ignored:

A great Club to belong to.

I'd like to be a member!

I have participation in many Corsair Threads and here's some of my Corsair interest:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_17...tm.htm#7867230

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_16...tm.htm#8406985

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_84...tm.htm#8462647

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_16...11/key_/tm.htm

I also had but sold my Pilot and Royal Corsair kits. Yes, the guy put them up on the "bay."

I still have my H9 and a great Corsair kit by GM Plastics Inc. I'm sure many of you older Corsair enthusiasts know of this unusual scale kit from the mid 80's. I hope to do a Build with this 75" span kit next year!

I've collected and have on file tons of build photos AND actual Corsair aircraft photos.

Here's a photo of my second favorite Corsair.

I'll be a good Member if acepted.

Charles

WOW, and Double WOW! I can't believe I was welcomed into the Corsair Brotherhood, while I was responding to this Thread.

Thanks!

Hey Randy. If you flip the carb on a G-62 the carb pulse hole will not line up with the one in the engine. There are a few option though. Zenoah makes a new block that rotates the carb a few degs to make it line up better. However I have heard they are more prone to leaking air and causing inconsistant running. Tony Clark make a nice elbow that moves the carb back and also makes the linkages a striaght shot. They can be found here. http://www.vogelsang-aeroscale.com/intakebends.html

here is my throttle linkage. I pryed off the smal metal horns and replaced them with the large zenoha arms. One came with the engine and one I bought.

Thanks Bob! I got the engine started and ran her for 3 tanks. Puuurs like a kitten and has 0 loading during idel. Ran out of time and it has been 97 with mega humidity here but I will fly her soon! The helicopter Nationals and IRCHA may delay me a little but by now she is like a fine bottle of wine. I will savor her until the time is right!

Thanks Bob! I could trim my choke linkage but it is not noticeable when on the wheels with the cowl on and I like having a easy access choke.
