RE: Cermark Spitfire
Easton, what is the weight of your spitfire with the g26? I'm waiting for someone with the spe 26 to chime in. I wonder how much perfomance difference between them. Power and weight.

RE: Cermark Spitfire
Set up information for Spitfire (Cermark/Topgun)
CG position is 4" from the leading edge.
Ailerons 3/4" up & down
Elevator 1" up & down
Ruder 1 1/2" each way
This is as they say in the instructions as a general guide.

RE: Cermark Spitfire
Specs:
Futaba radio gear
Laser 100
14/8 three blade prop
Uni-tract Air up & spring down retracts
As to the engine positioning I found and marked the Horizontal & Vertical line and then the engine mount six millimeters to the left giving me the correct amount of side thrust.
The paint was Flair or Spectrum http://www.flairmodels.co.uk/Finishing/Spectrum.htm

OPkay, I finaly got mine in the air, with the SPE 26 and a 18x6 prop...It flies like a dog, lumbering around, in a high Alpha attitude. I keep thinking she's gonna stall out on me.
Both times the engine ended up quitting on me and I've dead-stiched her safely back, but I can't imagine it's th eplane... It must be the engine.
I can't figure it out?
I started out w/ a 15x 7 3 bladed prop, and it was a slug so i changed her tio the 2, but I still am not getting the love I want.
CG is correct, but it flies like a .60 is pulling it around.
Anyone else w/ and SPE 26 on board ?
What is anyone turning RPM wise ?

RE: Cermark Spitfire
No way a 18-10 is too much prop for a 26. Try a 16-8 apc. I have one on mine with a g26 and it turns it 9200 rpm. Mine flies great. I like the way it flies so much I upgraded the retracts with robarts and struts and 3.5 robart wheels. Just try a 16-8 apc and you can compare the rpm and if it anywhere close it should fly great.
Good Luck

RE: Cermark Spitfire
Hi guys,
I've got a SuperTigre G-2300 laying around. Do you think this would be a good mate for this plane? I've also got a GMS 1.20. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Cermark Spitfire
I haven't had much trouble with the ST. I was thinking of using it since it is about 5 oz heavier and from what i've read most people are adding weight to the nose. I just want to be sure that it wasn't too much for this plane
Thanks
Thanks

Cermark spitfire,Powered mine with a g26 flies it great.Only problems i had wth the plane.Wanted to nose over while taxing.Solution which took care of problem was move the up sized 24 ounce gas tank 2 inches back, replace with larger wheels and replace with smaller tail wheel.with the stock air system had the pressure filling valve inside part fall out during flight lost all pressure thanks for spring down retracts.Replaced filler valve with robart works great.120 0s fs not enough power.g26 fit great just take off back plate.Best spitefire i have flown.

RE: Cermark Spitfire
I've got mine completed and have flown it 3 times. I agree, it flies great.
I've got a Super Tiger G-23 with a 16-8 3 blade prop and it has plenty of power and speed if throttled up. The best part is that I didn't add any weight to balance the plane.

RE: Cermark Spitfire
I tried to order the Spitfire from the Cermark website, but it wouldn't let me...
First I had to lessen my security settings to accept their cookies, but when I click on "Checkout" my system tells me that there's a problem with Cermak's certificate. And I can't go any further...
Anyone else have this problem?
