Lado retracts, do the really exist?
#1976
An update. I now have five or six flights on the P-40 with the new Lado RS 333-RB retract. So far no problems. Even had a couple of less the perfect landing is a cross wind. The retracts and gear held up ok.

With any luck at all, someday Lado will make some that come down farther than 90 degrees. I've had those in a Corsair for a number of years. It really won't allow me to move it's CG any farther back to help the ground handling. Even with a CG that required an elevator linkage that barely deflects the elevator, and gives an almost uncomfortable pitch sensitivity, the ground handling sucks. I've quit flying that Corsair and whenever the itch to fly that Corsair or my Hellcat or Warhawk hits me, I pull out the 50-size Corsair with the Eflite 100 degree rotators.
"Holding up" isn't the problem with those Lado's.

Who is going to be first?
@ N1EDM, you are right, it looks like the conrol unit comes with the retracts.
I'm looking foreward to the retracts and try to keep you inform about the quality etc.

Read the ad again. It includes the control board at the introductory price. They look like just a reworked version of the 615 design, which in my opinion is a weak design, the little teeth on the gear need to mesh perfectly with the side rails and when you put any side force on them they pop out of place. I would want to know what the weight would be with the struts. Since the Sierra gear include the struts in the price all things equal they are the same price and function flawlessly. If you add the weight of the gear + stuts + battery for the Robarts, I would bet you're not far off in the weight category. I don't see the issue with the weight of the Sierras, both my TF Mustang and P-40 weigh in at 11 lbs and fly and land with out any issues other than the 615's collapsing on the P-40 which was solved by going to the sierra gear.

I've had RS 333 RB retracts for a few years in my H9 Hellcat and they have been used very little (maybe a dozen flights). Today, I cycled the retracts and one of them just keeps running (motor is spinning, nothing else happens) in the down position. Has anyone else had this issue and did you resolve it yourself or send back to Lado? Since Magnum RC no longer carries them, I'm assuming I'm on my own to repair. Ideally, it would be something which could be done on the workbench. Thanks for any insight! I'll continue searching on this site for related issues and remedies as well.

mtnbike, I suffered with the same symptom recently. IIRC the drive between gearbox and screw shaft is a friction fit. I dismantled the gearbox end and pressed the mating drive parts, which had come adrift, together again. has been working ok since. My units are the early versions, pretty old!

jrtal, thanks for the info!
Once I put the screwshaft back into place and tested, it seems the issue may be with a sensor which does not seem to shut off after the retract fully extends. It keeps running and pulls the shaft out again. I held the shaft to provide resistance to see if it would cut off the motor, but it just bogged and kept going.

I'm about to put my Lado 333's into a P-51 Mustang. The 333's are 90-degree units. I wonder if there is an adjustment inside that I could use to adjust these to 85-degrees?? Or could it be done back at the Manufacturing Facility??
If we don't have a USA outlet any more, does anyone have a link to where they made in Europe?
Thanks,
Bob

LADO website

Gear can not be adjusted. I would recommend just buying a new set of 85 degree.

Wish LADO had been first to the market and HH had been 100 degree.

Hi does anyone know whats going on at lado, been after a couple of actuators for a couple of months saying no stock together with other products sent an email few weeks ago all they said was they would inform me when in stock. Brian
I had this conversation with Christophe yesterday... And since it was not marked "do not share" I am sharing...Me:I notice that most products are out of stock on your website. I like what I have seen of others that have used your actuators to convert their gear and am looking forward to my current project, and future projects using Lado actuators… I am also actively pitching your actuators to my fellow flyers, and am hoping your current out of stock status is temporary and that I can continue to buy and recommend your products in the future.Reply:Hi, we are gently stopping the business as we have the rules since 12 years now, and we want to pass to another history. So out of stock will continue until we found another company to continue this history, as customers are here and selling continue. Controller for electric landing gear [LGC12S]
Hi!
My control board is broken.
Are there anyone who has tried Xicoy control on Lado?
