RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
Hey Mike, I am one of Steve's favorite customers.. I will be sure to say hi. I am always in there for one thing or another.. Anyways, our club name is ORCA. (Orlando RC Asscociation) This field is two years old now, as the old field was o right off of Narcoossee Rd. Now we are off of Moss Park. Excellent place to fly, really is... If you are down here for anything, even just visiting don't hesitate to let me know. We love to have guests here. Who knows, maybe we can get Steve and Julie to go out there also...

I am using 2 x 2100 Life batteries. Rx is a 9 channel power safe (Spektrum) that takes two seperate battery inputs. No regulator for Rx. Ignition is run off of this also, with a 42% products "thor" ingnition supply (5v) and cutoff.
3 x 8 minute flights, uses ~ 800mah total

RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
Thanks, that's good to hear.. What about flight times, etc... The reason I'm asking is that as I get more comfortable with the plane, I am flying it between three and five times per outing. Anyways, I know that there are a million variables involved but I am not very satisfied with the current dual batt setup. I know the main batt is older, so I'm thinking it's time to replace anyways and I thought this might be a good time to upgrade. BTW, I am currently using the Jomar Products Ultimate Battery Backer so I hope I can still run that with the LiFe batts. Side note, I am using the AR7000 and all channels are full so no "open" channels to directly plug another batt to...

Oh, On the ignition I just use a 4.8v pack and that seems to be working out perfectly. I am just not very content with the main/back up batt setup.

Where is everyone putting their air-fill valve? I'm trying not to just drill a hole in the side of the fuselage and have the valve sticking out. I'm making a compartment and hatch for the switches and charge ports, the air fill valve is too long and won't fit the depth of the compartment. The gas fill and vent will be out the bottom of cowl, air pressure gauge and ignition on LED will be on the Cockpit instrument panel, any photos would be great.

Price is raised!..... On ALL of Hobico products... (great planes, TopFlite ect)
Up 20-50$ depending on what plane you purchased....
The P-40 is now 630$ was 580$.....so Inflation keeps on comming!.....

Very impressive landings Alf.
Ihave settled into 3pt/w full flaps. Our field is very rough and the wheel landings don't seem to go nearly as well.

Thanks,
The first landings was wheel landings and so I tested a threepointer and it almost hit me...
Got some more circuits and I found that threepoint landing worked best for me with full flaps. Still very easy to go around with gear down and full flaps. No scary pitch moments. Just keep the gear down....
And remember that landing is an option, be prepared for a goaround!

I've had a few landings where I should have gone around and lined up better. I tend to commit - need to work on that!
It does sink in so nice.
