Jeff, Jeff, Jeff, you know me well enough to know it's got to have a nice shiny paint job. The only issue with Titanium is that it has to be 6-4 alloy in order to bend well. Problem is that particular grade is a bit springy. A couple short pro links for my ailerons would help and if I can get enough weight out of the nose then I can go to a .058 CF rudder pushrod. I figure for gold class I need 6 minutes of fuel. I can't imagine going through 16 oz in that short of time. Either way it's on hold for the next week. We are moving into a new condo starting tomorrow.

I am working hard on my little Tsunami also. mine is all wood though and a 10% wing. 401 sq inch wing and 4.5 pounds. DZ70 on a 11.25x15N prop. so far its turned it at 11,900 on 30%. think I need more pitch with it when I switch to 50%. I would like to run 1:13 on the course.

Break out time is 1:25 and for those who believe it is hard to be below, I would say.... try staying above. Cold air, lower nitro (48%) and an old style 1.15 and my newer heavier plane did a 1:20 this week end. Faster plane, higher nitro, and right weather conditions and I too can breakout with the best. Everyone will get a chance in just under a month. I'm excited to see everyone again. Looking forward to seeing all the new planes and hearing the roar of the engines. I guess from the sounds of all the posts above I better start practicing.

Well the move is pretty much winding down. In another day or two I will have the shop set up well enough to get back to work on the Macchi. Shouldn't have any issues getting it in primer over the weekend. Get to fire up my new 1.5 hp 30 gallon compressor.

I hope to fly mine this weekend for the Sunday outlaw race. I hope I can make this little plane go with the faster ones. If not then I have 115 WS in the box for a plane.

Took my KI out with a new YS115 WS yesterday. I ran a half a tank of 30% on ground then took it up for the maiden on my new JR - XG14 DMSS Tx. All went well. I kept it very rich, and it was still fast. Last year in Sac in April, I raced it with a 110. This 115 will be much better for this plane.
BJ mine too is 8+ lbs, cause it is glassed and painted. But it is clean and smooth.
Looking forwrd to some good racing with all these fast planes.

I am predicting a lot of breaking out and a lot of 2nd and 3rd place finishers to get bumped to 1st.

16x8 i dont think that is big enough, thats the prop I run on my 70. I would think the 115 would turn a 19x6...

Did some more prop testing on the little DZ-70 engine. You can run 50% in the engine. Testing the APC 11x14 Prop it would turn 10,200-10,300 on 30% and spin that prop at 11,100 on 50%.
With a little work on the prop I will get it to 11,500-12,000 that I need. The plane is slower than I expected but with a little work I should be able to get done to 8 sec laps.
