RE: Weston Magnum

I have an airframe (with no engine) available if interested. Had it in mind for a future project, but will probably never get around to it.

RE: Experiences with kit cutters

VG, Unfortunately, it's not as easy as scanning it in and cutting from that. Cutting a kit from a set of plans requires converting it from raster format (how it's scanned in) to a vector format that...

RE: woodworking issues

Good question! I was curious about that myself, never had much luck gluing bamboo to anything. Anyone know of a good source of bamboo as well?

RE: Hinge installation. Is this unique or did I reinvent ?

Another trick to cut hinge slots is to use a dremel (best tool ever IMO) with a large cut-off wheel. Makes a perfect slot REAL quick in balsa. No need for "special" slotting tool. Also, lightly dab...

RE: RC Product Ideas

The military uses the rail mounting system, usually referred to as "hardpoints" or "racks".... Thing is though, they add considerable drag, extra unecessary weight, and generally don't look good...

RE: Short kit for a Sr. Telemaster

Any luck?

I'm actually working on one now (I believe the senior is a 70" wingspan?)

Should have a wing set ready to go in a week or so. Let me know via email or pm if you'd like one.

RE: Laser cutting/CAD question

Nice review! I have a 40 watt that I use in my cutting/engraving business - absolutely love it!
I was wondering about the trim sheets, but hadn't gotten around to trying it yet - thanks for the...

RE: Laser Cutting Service? / RFQ

I also own/operate a laser cutting buisness, and my specialty is one-off R/C kits. (I'm a scratch builder myself when not building someone else's plane) - link is in my sig. below.

Been cutting...

RE: Painting over covering

Yes, you can. Just mask off the areas you don't want to paint, and lightly scuff the covering to give the paint a little more to attach to. Make sure your covering is tight and wrinkle free, then...

RE: Help getting Radio and servos to work please

It will work, whether it's glow, electric, gas, etc. The receiver doesn't care what it's installed in. The only difference is where the power comes from, either straight from the battery pack, or via...

RE: What is the smallest LiPo battery pack available?

Ha! You beat me to it! Those are the smallest - but won't work for what he's trying to do. :)

My vote would be Maxamps or Thunderpower.... the sizes are all roughly the same, same capacity,...

I saw those too... nicely done - (watch out for the tree branches though!) I especially liked the part where you were being "marshalled" back through the window.

I was asking what make/model...

RE: Inadvertent Blade CX Aquatic Mod

Too bad about the battery! It should have been ok - but I agree, better safe than sorry!

The onboard video is pretty good quality, what eDVR is that?

RE: Sig little Rascal question

I assume you're talking about the 'lil rascal, not the 49"...? No problems with mine, running motor/gear setup.... with 3-cell Lipo. Haven't gone brushless (yet) - doesn't really need it IMHO. :D

As far as who to trust (Not me! I'm not on the list! Phew! :D ) - use RCU as just one of many sources of information. You can also get a good idea on most things...

RE: Prepping for covering

RE: Need power suggestions for twin electic

Very nice! The buyer was very lucky. [8D]

I'm thinking over the Hacker A30-28S, should give me current draw of around 15A, with 25A peak. In theory, I'll have 550W total available input power...

RE: Power suggestions needed for twin electric

Thanks! More good info.

As far as engine out, I'm going to try to keep that to a minimum. I do plan to use enough to keep it flying on one, but don't necessarily need climb power - just enough...
