Don't worry about it. Most of our "down and side" is because of grossly overpowered air frames, and overly aggressive thumbs. I have done a number of scale jobs with neither.

Sounds like a stuff I have used called "Friskit", and yes it is a very low tack material. I have taped down perimeter points to keep things in place.
