RE: RCGF Engines

The standoffs are really 5mm x 0.8, real close to 10-32, but a 10-32 will fit a bit loose, could strip the threads when tightened. Found this out making some standoffs and taping for 10-32 and the...

RE: US 41 Electronic ignition conversion

You might also try Ridge Machine, I think they made a CDI version of the US 41 some time ago. They still sell ignitions. Remember that US Engines is just another way to Quadra.:D

RE: Fuels and Health Issues

This is the interesting part,

RE: Opensource CDI ignition

If you use a mosfet or something like that, you have to know when to shut it off. The SCR does that all by itself.

RE: Super Tigre 3000 help...

If its a K there will be a "K" stamped on the side of the motor mount, I think that's where it is. It also will have much larger carb opening then the earlier models. The K used the 4500 carb with a...

RE: Cloud Dancer 120

Looked at my CD 120 and compared the Ryobi, looked a bit big, seemed like the Echo would be more suited, but the rear mounted carb of the Ryobi would make a cleaner installation. Believe the Kioritz...

RE: Cloud Dancer 120

Just finishing up one myself, going to put a 120 Saito in it. Think a Ryobi might be a bit heavy for it, maybe an echo or Weedeater Feather lite? Sure has a lot of wing area if you build it with the...

RE: LED ON IGNITION

Well, just for your info, the resistor is built in to the 6v Led, a "normal" Led needs a resistor installed to limit the current to 10 - 20 ma depending on the Led.

Resistor = (Battery voltage...

RE: LED ON IGNITION

Just wire the + end of the LED to the switched side of the ignition switch, the one that goes to the ignition, not the battery, and the other end to negitve (ground). Assumes you are using the 6v...

RE: New CDI - opensource project JMJ and Bigboat

Here in the US some of the pcb makers give us hobbiest a deal like 5 small ( 2 x 3 inches or so) double sided boards for $50. You might seach around in your part of the world for something similiar....

RE: How is it possible that 4C's are lighter than 2C's??

Never weighed a 4s crank vs a 2s, but not having to have that great big hole that is in the middle of a 2s crank, would make a 4s crank lighter.

RE: Lathe for conversions

You can get a pretty good set of shims from a feeler (thickness) gauge too.You know, like you use to set valve clearences. Just buy a cheap one and take it apart.

RE: Lathe for conversions

You probably need to align the motor shaft axis so it is parallel to the head stock axis. In other words, the motor is pulley is a bit cocked with respect to the spindle pully.

RE: Lathe for conversions

HERE is a good link for 9x20's. I believe that the 8x12's do not have a guick change for the apron feed. All feed changes are by changing gear sets.
