RE: Header tank on gas engines

I've never needed a header tank with a gas engine, but I used to do it for glow engines all the time.

With the pickup in the center of the tank, you don't need to worry about air collecting in...

RE: Chip Hyde's Vision 3D

My DV weighs 15 lb 8 oz. I prefer the Mejzlik 22x8 over the 23x8 for 3-D. My DA-50 is more responsive with the 22" prop.

RE: kyosho flip 3d?

I had a flip with an OS 50. The 50 is a powerhouse for it's size and the 46fx was never very strong for it's size. If you want to do a bunch of hovering I don't think you'll be happy with the 46.

RE: Gas Engine / RF Interference?

Dont' know what kind of isolators you're using, but unless they provide a large physical separation of wires they don't do much good. E.G. chokes and "optical isolators" that are in a little box...

RE: How many of you are running 2 idle set up while flying?

I had a Brison 6.4 that would flame out after a long downline. I'd come down, pull out, and just as I was starting to give it the gas it'd die.

I called Brison and they said that the problem...

RE: Gas Engine / RF Interference?

The thing to look for for interference is not the receiver location as much as the closest any component connected to the receiver is to the ignition. Servos in the motor box is asking for trouble....

RE: 3W 100 - 5700 rpm max?

I agree. Sounds like too much prop to me. I wouldn't believe any 100 CC motor would turn an MSC 27x12 much over 5700, even if I saw it with my own eyes.

Huge props are trendy and people feel...

RE: How many of you are running 2 idle set up while flying?

Flamed out after a long upline? That sounds lean on the top-end and a high idle wouldn't help. Or did you mean long downline?

I personally don't run a high idle. But I do know what maneuvers...

RE: Can ZDZ-80 pull 25lbs plane for unlimited?

The ZDZ 80 will do fine. Even without a tuned pipe. And being two pounds lighter than a DA-100 will help you as well.

I prefer the power and throttle response of the 100 CC motors and have...

RE: help monuting bme 110 extreme on edge 33%

The reason for not using straight standoffs is that the mounting flanges are not designed to take radial loads. The mount is designed to support radial loads through the outer ring, meaning that the...

Agreed. 2 or 3. And pin the firewall if you haven't already done so.

RE: ZDZ-80 Low RPM???

On the approach -- you're describing a motor that's too rich on the low end. The motor was too wet to run, that's why you had to flip 3 times to start it.

You're high end is probably too...

RE: BEST WINGLOADING FOR 3-D

My favorite 3-d plane is a 35% Von Extra 260 with a wing loading of 28.3 oz/sq foot.

Wing loading doesn't scale with size. Cubic loading does a much better job of indicating how performance...

RE: Spinner moving on a BME 110

If it's the spinner itself that's moving, try loctite around where the spinner cone meets the backplate before tightening down the spinner retaining bolt.

RE: Help Needed Hovering U-Can Do 60!!!

If you are flying in a breeze, lean the plane forward into the breeze just enough that it doesn't travel with the wind and it won't torque roll on you. This works without a breeze too, but you will...

RE: Starting a G-62

RE: DA-50 Idle adjustment

There is an idle stop screw on the DA-50. It's a big phillips head screw with a spring on it that's pointy on the end. The screw is on the opposite side of the carb from the side with the throttle...

RE: voltage and battery size for DA-100

Get a 1650 mAh NiMH 4 cell pack for $10.00. Weight : 4 oz. No need for a regulator. Will power your ignition through more than a gallon of fuel.

I have not been impressed by 28 inch and up...

RE: Rx Battery Help........Please!!!!

I agree with Shogun. Take the LI packs and add the regulator weight to it. 3.5 oz + 1.5 oz = 5 oz for $55.00.
Or you could go with 5 oz of NiMH battery pack for $12.50.

Li does not make...

RE: ANY JR 8611 FAILURES

RE: Rx Battery Help........Please!!!!

If you want peace of mind, I agree with...

RE: Twist 3D... What Engine???

I second the saito 72. If you prefer two stroke, the OS 50 with a tower hobbies muffler and an APC 12.25x3.75 will do the job.
