RE: Flying wing or pod and boom for pusher

RE: The price of the electric gear stunned me!

The cheapest way to start in brushless electric is to buy an ebay Hydroflyer which comes with a 2410 brushless motor , 1200mAH LiPo, charger and radio (4 channel 3 servos + speed controller). All...

RE: speed recording

Does the doppler speed method work on electric aircraft ? I tried it with a gas turbine and found there were just too many frequencies to be able to pick the correct ones to compare. With gliders I...

RE: speed recording

Has anyone tried modifying this so that it transmits down to the ground the speed and can allow several passes with the speed being known each time.
Maybe a voice synthesizer on a computer would be...

Heavy or Light

The aim of this group as far as I can tell is to make the fastest model through a speed trap.
Has it been decided yet whether it is best to use a light model which accelerates quickly or a heavy...

RE: upgrading T-18 electric

The boat is about 1 meter long (39 inch).

The motor has a fan built into it and really seems to use up the batteries quickly.
It is probably designed for a completely different application. I...

RE: Chinese Hydroflyer review

This model came as ready to fly and that is what I recommend getting as they are so cheap.
It uses a Brushless 2408 outrunner, 1200 mAh Lipo and a 25 A brushless speed controller.
I have now put...

RE: Accipiter to brushless

My plane came standard with a carbon fibre spar luckily.
I think I might put a second aileron servo in to halve the load and link them with a Y-lead.

My motor is the 2408 21t what differnce is...

RE: Accipiter to brushless

I did the mod last night and took out the Accipiter with brushless motor installed this morning.
Definately feels like a totally new model. Almost too much power, making me think that the servos...

Accipiter to brushless

I have been having good fun with this Accipiter EP foamie. There appear to be many aircraft by this name as I think it is Chinese for "Hawk". I have attached a photo to save confusion.
It comes...

RE: Lear Jet EDF ? is there one ?

It does seem to vary thrust when turning but it is basically on/off.

I was planning on upgrading the radio anyway so this is not a problem.
I am basically prepared at this price to...

RE: Lear Jet EDF ? is there one ?

I picked up one of the cheap foamie (Earl) Lear Jets and it does fly fairly well with a good rate of climb and about a ten minute flight time.
It only has motor and rudder control and I it would be...

RE: Easy(ish) Combo for 150mph?

Or put enough lead in a glider and it will do the same.
I think it is fun using the same engine and trying to make better cleaner aircraft, pipes , props etc.
