RE: Tower Hobbies Fun 51 - Engine & propeller experiences

I've been flying mine for almost a year with a Thunder Tiger Pro .46 with an 11 x 5 APC prop. It's my favorite plane, especially in high wind.

RE: Great planes AT-6 Texan

I have the GP Texan with an OS .70 4-stroke in it. It flys like it is on rails. I did have trouble with the landing gear because the brace rail on one side was not installed properly. It broke right...

RE: Sig 4* question

Don't be afraid of the 4*. I went to it from a trainer & never looked back. It flys so much better and lands so much easier than a trainer and is much more responsive at the same time. You will love...

RE: CA hinges not grabbing

Did you drill 3/32 holes in the center of each hinge slot? This lets the THIN CA wick deeper into the slot for a better bond.

RE: Sig 4*60 or???

I have been around 2 Tower .75 engines even though I don't own one. In my opinion , they are good engines. They make good power & seem to tune easily.

RE: Great Planes AT-6 Texan ARF

I have an AT-6 with an OS 70II 4-stroke. It's a great flying plane with beautiful scale take-offs & landings. Before you fly it, go in & reinforce the landing gear. It is a very weak design. One of...

RE: Servo city dealings?????

I have ordered from them twice. The first time, no problem. The second time I ordered I waited & waited but saw or heard nothing. I finally decided to call them. They were very nice & told me that...

RE: Have you ever crashed an RC plane?

I never have crashed a plane, but sometimes they land while I'm trying to fly them. Very annoying.

RE: Glueing Question

Go with what TopShelf said. Epoxy is heavy, just use it in high stress areas.

RE: Exponential for Beginners-Good Idea??

I think it would be better for a beginner to just use low rate settings on their trainer and save the expo for their more advanced planes. The simpler you can keep things when learning the better....

RE: 2nd radio

You can set up flaps with that radio, but it won't allow you to set the flaps at a "crow setting". You may have to look at the JR radios for that.

Setting valve clearance on Saito .91

I'm having trouble getting this right. The instructions aren't much help. After I made the adjustment the engine runs good , but it makes a noise I didn't notice before. Can someone give me simple to...

Slimline muffler for TT Pro .46

Does Slimline make a muffler for the Thunder Tiger Pro .46 that will let the engine mount in the standard vertical position? I've seen one on an OS .46 FX, but I don't know if it has the same mount.

RE: GP AT-6 Texan ARF

I have an AT-6 I haven't started yet. I am trying to decide between a Saito 56, 65 or OS 70II. How does yours fly with the Saito 56? Does it fly "scale"?

I would also like to know what kind of...

I attended the Classic at Millington, TN as a spectator for the 2nd year. I must say I really enjoyed myself. There was great flying, food & music too! I just wish there were more warbirds. The Stuka...

what fuel to use in a 4 stroke engine

I use Byron's 15%/16% 4-stroke fuel in my Saito-91. It runs great on it with no problems.

My First Kit - Also a Four Star 60

I really like your covering job. I used the same colors in a little different scheme. You'll love this plane.

recommend inexpesive kit (feeling cheap!)

That Thunder Tiger .46 will do great in a Tower Hobbies Fun-51 profile. The kit is only $44.95. Kind of a pain to build, but a great flyer.

Pushrod on sig*40

I've built two 4*60's. My instructions said to screw the rod in a specified amount, then put a drop of thin CA on it. I've never had a problem with this. Happy building!

Four Star 4 Stroke Mount?

If you don't mind spending $4.95, trash the one that came with the kit & try the one Dave Brown makes for 4-strokes. It works great.

Finished 2nd 4*60 finally!

I finally got in the mood to finish my 2nd 4*60 after I flew my first one through our wind sock tower. Iwas a little more creative with the covering on this one. Trying to match it to my Fun-51.
I...
