engine comparisons

Anybody ever thought of putting together an engine comparison thread? Ex. 46 sized engines, weight and real tach #'s, 60 sized, 90 sized etc? Might make a good thing to sticky and cut down on a lot...

Is JBA the same as SK engines?

Saw an add in a magazine, the JBA and SK 90/91 have identical weights and specs, are they the same engine?

RE: la.40 hop ups

Assuming you've removed the baffle from the muffler, a few years ago, Stu Richmond from RCREPORT magazine had a suggestion to drill out the stinger with a 0.25" drill bit. I did it with mine, it...

RE: Getting back into glow, what 46-50 size motor?

Wow, a lot of replies. Will fly with the tt for now, but really like the looks/specs of the Enya. Irvine 53 a little high, but would prob be my first choice.

Getting back into glow, what 46-50 size motor?

Flew nothing but electrics for the past 2 years after I started with glow. I'm ready to get back into glow planes. I have a 40 size stick kit partially done, and a Sig SE. Wondering which motor to...

RE: Need help sizing motor & equipment!

I believe you will need 100+ watts/oz for aerobatics. 150+w/oz for 3D. That being said, you'll need a 240 watt motor system. Do you want geared or outrunner? Li-poly batts will give you long...

RE: Converting my .46 powered Stik to Electric

I picked up a 40 stick kit at a fun fly last month. I've got a 2836/10 on the way for it. I'm hoping to keep mine under 5 #. Using 3s batts will certainly be cheaper, but 4s might be more fun!

RE: Engine Recommendation for Sig 4Star 60

I have an OS 91 Surpass in mine, still had to move tha battery to the firewall to balance it. Lands like a dream, long and flat glide. Not as fast as my 40 size with 46AX though.

RE: Filling in a 4*60

I have an OS 91 4 stroke on mine. I love it. I like it a lot better than my 40 size. 40 has a 46 AX and is WAY overpowered, but still lands like a trainer. The 60 isn't as fast, but is so...

RE: my buddys magic 3d

I've flown mine with an OS 40 LA, a TT 42 GP, and now a ST 45. The 42 GP was perfect powerwise. The 45 is too heavy and too much power, but it sure does pull it straight up.
