RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Mitch,

Could it be fuel line or a tank problem? Or are you setting it up on a new airframe with new tank, etc. Ignition able to keep up with the higher RPM? I'm sure it is baffling as you...

RE: Hangar 9 30cc P-47 Build Thread

John,

I think the "tie-downs" on the tips of the stabilizer may be brackets for radio antenna wires from the fuse, not actual tie-downs to hold the aircraft. But that is a guess. Great job on...

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

Pete,
I'm guessing that the white servo arm bit on the inner gear door is simply a stop for the belcrank so the doors are not opened to far and it should give a little stiffer end point so they...

RE: Pushrod Question

The Rod-Chuck system uses a #5-40 die as a first cut and then a second cut with a #4-40 die so it removes less metal on each cut prolonging the life of the die and lessening the tendancy to twist off...

RE: looking for quality 1/4 scale USAAF fighter pilot

Contact these guys:

http://www.properlittlepeople.com/index.html

theirwebsite is a work in progress, but their pilots are really neat, especially if you want "you" in the cockpit.

RE: *** Top Gun 2011, RCU Onsite Coverage ***

Does anybody have the winners past first place and/or the special awards, i.e. Critics Choice, Best ______, etc.? Surprised Graham Mears and Dino didn't top the Team Scale.

RE: Ziroli P47

Looks like you blew the fuselage right off the Stuka!! Great work! The finish looks great! Paint or metal? I'm thinking you were flying high cover on the first sortie! I'm sure you love the way...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

If Detlef Kunkel on RCSB can't do it, nobody can.... Is there any shaft out the back of the engine? One-way clutch bearings are probably the most reliable way to work momentary engagement. You can...

RE: P-38 Ziroli designed, built and aluminum plated by Metal-morphous

Ron,

I owe you a PM or message of some sort. Mitch mentioned that I should get with you about weathering aluminum finishes. I'm close to being ready for that with a fuse.

The P-38 looks...

RE: P-38 Ziroli designed, built and aluminum plated by Metal-morphous

Rolling Circle,

Better than wheel collars are simply lengths of tubing that slide over the piston rod cut to the desired length stopping the clevis the needed distance from the cylinder. It...

RE: Scale poseable pilot making

Patti,

"Stew" looks fantastic!! I'm trying to do my best to give him a mount worthy of your skills. I'm up to my eyeballs in getting the metal finish on, but with building season rolling in, I...

RE: Looking for a P38

That makes sense. I think the washer is the right finishing touch. I'd probably spend extra time and solder it to the end of the tube even. There seems sufficiently over engineered now.... It is a...

RE: Looking for a P38

Just a thought here; Pete, I know you are past this step, but instead of using wheel collars on the cylinder shafts to limit travel, I'd work lengths of brass tubing that fit over the shaft to the...

RE: Looking for a P38

If you do the restored version, you can't hide all of the mistakes under the weathering.... That could be a problem?

Great video!! Not so sure I could get all of that out on camera without stumbling all over the place....

RE: P-38 Ziroli designed, built and aluminum plated by Metal-morphous

Ron,

I'd guess that the down and locked system could be used for flaps without a problem. I'm not sure that it would eliminate a battery drain with a stalled mechanism, as similar to a servo,...

RE: P-38 Ziroli designed, built and aluminum plated by Metal-morphous

I control the speed of flap deployment by programming through the transmitter, but I am not sure what radio system you will be using, this may not be an option. I'm guessing you have the Fowler...
