Okay, well I'm just curious... I have this esc that I put in my mini rio and I want to program it
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=6460
I found these instructions in the comments:
It is what it says - Super Simple
Here are the instructions:
Always start with throttle off, except when programming - then at full throttle!
Remember to check for channel reverse!
1. Turn on TX.
2. Set full throttle
3. wait for the beeps - 3sec after the first initial beep: (move throttle to off position during pause to select setting)
3a. beep, pause, beep - Li-po (cut-off 3v per cell)
3b. beep, beep, pause, beep, beep - Ni-Mh (cut-off at 60% of starting voltage)
3c. beep, beep, beep, pause, beep, beep, beep -toggle brake enable/disable
Glad to have it, will by more. Cheers.
When I plug in the battery, I don't here any beeps. So I'm not sure if its something I'm doing wrong... The boat runs great, and it really screams, but I want to turn on the low voltage lipo cutoff. I'm wondering if I can use my Proboat programming card to program it??? If not, any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong with the instructions... Thanks in advance

Yeah the motor is hooked up... I think the problem is that I was not holding down the throttle, which I notice it says in the instructions that to enter programming mode, you have to be holding down the throttle... So I'm going to give that a shot tomorrow and hopefully that works...

Yup you gotta do that before powerup on most esc's

I'll try to walk you through this.
1. Turn on your transmitter
2. While holding your throttle back ('full speed'), plug in your receiver battery (or battery into your speed control) - I now use a velcro strip I made just to hold the throttle, it frees up both hands to plug in the battery.
3. Listen to the beeps. At this point just keep listening and get familiar with the pattern. - You'll hear this:
beep__beep (this will happen one or more times to give you time to respond) then it will change to:
beep beep__ beep beep (again, this will happen one or more times then change to:
beep beep beep__beep beep beep You have now heard all the options it offers, and it will start all over. Just keep listening.
At some time when it does the 'beep__beep' (lipo cutoff selection) release the throttle. You may hear a confirmation beep or sound. You have now programmed the esc for that option. Without touching the throttle again, unplug the battery. Now you're done.
If you had wanted to program something else, you would pull the throttle at that option, and hold it there. Want to program another? let go of the throttle (see how moving and holding the throttle 'sets' it (tells the esc you want that option). Back and forth.
If it doesn't work (just) like that, you'll at least be familiar enough with the sounds to set it yourself. Hope this helped!
