you don't want to sped 500-1000 dollars? dude i spend 1K on a small 27 inch hull.
forget about it. even if you go with gas you will be 600+ unless you buy used or buy a paddle

There's a strong enough motor to push whatever size boat you have.

Costs:

Cells - $600

ESC - $400

Motor - $500

Still interested?

Ryan

What is an E max motor? How many Kv? Can dimensions in mm?

Cells - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRWE6&P=7
$300 x 2 = $600 If 2P is wanted $1200

Motor - http://www.neumotors.com/20061222/2200_series__.html
Neu 2215 - $495

ESC - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTJH7&P=7
Hydra 180HV - $385

Total - $1480
It would be a fun setup but not a blistering fast one.

Not really worth it. Maybe a 25" Mono using a single motor.

The Emaxx setup would be good for a 25" boat as stated either direct drive with a 38-40mm prop or geared with a 48mm prop.I put a 700 motor in my Electro Vee direct drive with 14.4V and it hauls pretty good with a 40mm prop.A 55" hull would require a huge motor and battery and the weight would be incredible![8D]

I'm running the same 550 titan can in my old 27" ABS Sea Master II from RPM (anyone remember these?).
Irrespective of ESC the motor can only turn so many rpms. It pushes my old ABS boat along well enough - I'm using a ProBoat esc with a 3300mAh NiMH pack (6 cels). I may make room for a bigger pack because the esc can handle it, but the motor is what it is.
The EVX you're looking at comes in a waterproof version too - it's pretty much the villian setup if I'm not mistaken.
I really don't think you're going to push this size hull with these motors.

He's not considering those tiny micro motors for this hull.

Hey, what about a dual set up w/smaller motors?

Wouldn't two kb45 XLs be able to handle a 55 inch boat with the right power set up? I heard someone here had a 50" apache w/dual kb45 XLs.

But then again the price range might be the same[sm=rolleyes.gif]

Yes, it would work but then you need 2 sets of cells and 2 ESC's doubling the cost of cells and ESC's.

If there's 2 motors I would still want a pack of 10s to each of them

could I run the e-maxx setup in this hull it 36'' but stock it only has 380 type motors and its kinda fast so two 550 motors would make a lot faster.

A 36" mono would be an E3 setup. This means 6 cell LiPo. A motor that would be used for example is a NEU 1521 or 1527

2 380 motors is not close to fast in this hull. It will be a dog! 550 motors would not do much better.

What kind of performance are you looking for? What is your goal here?
