Default Prince 25" Mono

I thought I would start a new thread for this boat since it seems to be getting popular but there is not much info out there yet on it. I ordered mine from http://r2hobbies.com/products.php?cat=58 and should be getting them any day now. They did not have white ones in stock so they sent yellow ones which they do not show on their website yet. Here is a pic of what they sent me below. If anyone has these boats please post away. When I get mine I will post pics and video.

You will like these boats they are very fast setup right.

I haven't got the RTR type, I am building mine from the hull up. I have the orange Delta Force 25" hull, some different B/L motors to try, a mish mash of hardware I have around.

I race in the Toronto area, good to see more Canadians into the fast electrics.

Cheers and keep it wet side down

Well I have 2 on the way so I hope they are good! I will be running mine on 4S 2200mah lipos to start with on the stock motor and a Turborix Advance 50A Bi-directional ESC from the same place, I will add water cooling to it. I will then go from there. What Motor/ESC/bats you use in yours? Yes, always good to see Canadians eh?

HEy if you want a realy fast setup, try a 9L on 12 cells or 4s lipo. Should get you to 50mph

50 mph that hull wont be able to handle
you cont need 4s to run 50. 2s E1 mono will run 50.

No way!!!

I ordered mine on 6/26

A week later I was told it was back ordered for 2-3+ weeks or I could take a yellow one which would be in stock in one week.

Mine officially shipped 7/7

Now I gotta ask, what hardware is on the transom. The Boat on there site has a single rod type unit. The yellow boat pictures they sent me have a 2 piece strut like deal...

Pics ASAP please

Bass, you should have yours soon, I think it took about a week to get mine one they were shipped. These boats I got have the stinger type mono drive... "rod type". I shot some pics and got lots of the build done tonight but now the bad news.... I gotta get to bed because I am going camping in the morning till Monday. I know you guys hate me now but sucks for me too because I have to wait all weekend to get her wet. Motors are small, about 28mmx28mm. I use a similar size outrunner in my Hydromite and it has WAY too much power on 3S, mind you the KV is high at 3600 on that one, should be lower. Before I bolt I will add that so far I am happy with these boats for the money, there are a few little things that I didn't like or had to fix but they are minor, no big deal, I will tell ya more when I get back. Can't wait to get them in the water and see how they do!

Since the motor is not water cooled I added cooling tubes to my ESC and put silicone on the ends to keep water out. She is now ready for the water! On my bros boat the drive dog was locked almost solid so we took it apart to find some kind of glue in there but ran smooth once it was all cleaned up, his motor alignment is also a little off so we will have to fix that at some point as well, not too bad though. All screws have to be gone over and checked because lots were loose, we also added loctite. I think I am also going to take all the hardware off and silicone them on just to make sure water does not get in, there is not much there from factory. It has a nice size flex shaft that is square on the end that fits into a cup in the propshaft... can you buy the square end cables? It also seems the drivedog is a hair too big for the propshaft because when you crank it down it goes crooked a bit so it makes it hard to get the prop to run true. I will get a new drive dog when I get some props and this should fix the small problem, I will run it as is first and see how it goes, will listen for vibes. Hatches are tape on and will need slight sanding on the bottom lip to make them fit perfect but that is easy. Quality of the hull and hardware I am happy with, the hulls of coarse are not going to be as good as the top brands but good none the less, the price is right. Well I can't think of anything else to say about them right now so I will post as it comes. 100% happy with my purchase so far! Oh by the way, motor alignment was perfect on my boat and my propshaft turned very smooth with no gunk in it. We also lubed up out flex shafts because there was no lube on them.

BTW the blue bullet prop nut in the pics I got extra from them, it just comes with a regular lock nut. I ran it up just now and sure enough I have some bad vibes, I am going to balance the plastic prop if needed and put the stock nut back on to see if the reduced mass helps the vibe situation. I will also have to figure out the size of my prop shaft to get new parts.... O.K. I should go camping! LOL

I know, we will see how it goes. What should I try for props... this one looks to be 38mm. I installed the stock nut and make a brass bushing for the prop (perfect fit over the shaft now) but still have vibes, I'm sure it is this drive dog doing it. Hmmm.

Well I just got home! Good info Bass thanks. These cables should last a while they are thick. I don't see a problem getting a much larger motor in these boats, there is lots of room in there. I may do a motor upgrade on this boat but I want to try it stock first and see how things go, I hope to get her out tomorrow. Just gotta balance my prop and I'm good to go!

Well I went out tonight for a quick rip and after about 1 min it started going crazy a bit so I brought her back, when I opened the hatch a bit of smoke came out, I thought it was the motor because it was so hot I could not touch it but my ESC wrap is also melted and does not seem to be working perfect anymore. No water got in anywhere. I must have been pulling lots of amps because my pack was even warm after my 1 min or less run, I will try and figure out the problem. There seems to be a tad bit of slop in the drive, I wonder is that is causing the vibes and drag, the drive dog can't be helping either. I will play with boat #2 to see if it has the same problems.
